Writing this review exactly a month after purchase and using this rack 5 times a week. PACKAGING/ASSEMBLY - 9/10 as seen in pictures box arrived slightly damaged, that had me worried but luckily everything was just fine with no dental or scratches. As can bee seen this box is PACKED TIGHTLY, everything is double wrapped, box has extra padding in the corners. It actually looks quite intimidating because of the sheer amount of items. Luckily instructions are excellent, one of the best if no the best I actually ever seen for this kind of equipment. Tools needed to assemble come included and all bolts, nuts and washers are separated in step by step packages (see photos). Excellent! It took me just under hour to put it up myself in a TINY office. With more space and one person to help this is a 30-40 minute job at best. BUILD QUALITY - 9.2/10 Overall this rack is extremely solid, and I have no doubt it will hold the 800lbs of weight it is rated for. There is a small amount of flex which is sexpected since this is a half rack and not a full cage. FEATURES 7/10 This is the part where this rack falls down a bit. While J, cups, spotter arms, weight plate holders and pull-up bar are good quality and very much on par with the rest their compatibility is not as good as I hoped. The rack used a weird 0.8" hole for all attachements instead of standard 1" or bigger. That means if you want to buy attachments from other rack they most likely will not fit. Company sells their own attachements that fit just fine but this is a big let down since many people already have some attachments or will be looking to upgrade in the future. Overall I will give this rack 7.5/10 all day. And if it wasn't for the weird size of attachments it would easily score 9. For this price this is still an excellent rack and serves me well so far. I did add a lat pulldown pulley and Amazon flat bench (which by the way fits between posts like it was meant to be sold together!) And workouts are enjoyable ... show more

  • Awesome squat rack! Great value. Awesome squat rack! Great value.
Style: Premium Rack
I ordered this squat rack to complete our COVID home gym. We're on a pretty tight budget, but I decided to go for this rack over cheaper squat stands for for safety. I'm glad I did, we love this thing. It's perfect for squats, overhead press, bench press, and any other lifts that require a rack. The pull-up bar is a great addition as well. We are very space limited, so the small footprint of this rack is greatly appreciated. Our flat bench is 41 inches long and fits between the uprights for easy storage. Quality: This squat rack is very sturdy. We have only put 275 on it so far, but it seems very strong and stable. I don't have any worries about putting more weight on the bar. The welds look good, the steel is thick, and it's held together by big bolts. The J-hooks and spotter arms are lined with hard plastic, which protects the barbell. It's holding up well so far to wear and tear. Stability: The squat rack will move around when you rack heavy weights unless you bolt it to the ground or put a bunch of weight on the plate holders. The rack itself only weighs 83 lbs, so if you bulldoze into it with a 300 lb loaded barbell, it will move a bit. I have no fears that it will tip over, but it can be disconcerting. You just have to be gentle when you re-rack. Based on my research, this is an issue with virtually every half rack/squat stand on the market that isn't bolted to the floor. They just don't weigh enough to stay in place on their own. You either need to weight them down with extra plates, bolt them down, or have a spotter stand on the back and hold it. This rack does have holes for floor bolts, but we rent so it's not an option for us. Safety: One of the main reasons I chose this rack was the spotter arms. Many squat racks/stands at this price point either don't have them at all, or they're too short to be useful. Even the CAP Barbell racks similar to this one make you purchase the spotter arms separately (and of course, they're sold out everywhere). Fortunately I haven't needed the spotter arms yet, but I've used them for some rack pulls and they're sturdy. They are a good length and I'm happy to have them, especially if I'm lifting alone. Size: I think this squat rack would work for 99% of people. Height-wise, it's very adjustable. The reason I mention this is because with some of the cheaper squat stands, they don't extend high enough for tall people to squat. It's not an issue here. The rack has holes basically the full length of the uprights where the J-hooks can be placed. Unless you're like 8 feet tall, this rack should be useable anyone. Value: I paid $215 for the rack, with free shipping (I've noticed the price has changed a couple times). It's an excellent value for the money. The other squat stands I was looking at were $150-200, but I think this rack was a much better value for the money, even though it cost a little more. You'll be hard pressed to find another product that has a pull-up bar, safety arms, real J-hooks, and an 800 lb capacity at this price point. Shipping: Some of the comments report damaged parts during shipping. Our rack was securely packaged and undamaged upon arrival. None of the pieces were bent and all the connectors on the end were wrapped in cardboard to protect them. The rack actually arrived a day early (7 days after I ordered), so no shipping delays or anything. Assembly: This rack was a breeze to assemble. Maybe took me half an hour, with some intermittent help from my boyfriend. It will definitely be easier if someone can give you a hand to hold things, but definitely could be done alone. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Tools were included, but assembly will go much faster if you have a socket wrench, FYI. You'll want an 18mm socket. Minor complaints: Overall I really like this rack. I'm glad I purchased it and honestly, would buy again. I do have a couple small gripes. First, the pull-up bar is not knurled. It can be a little slippery, especially if your hands are sweating. Not a deal breaker, but if you're primarily buying this for pull-ups, something to consider. The rack will also move around if you do kipping pullups unless you put heavy weights on the plate holders or bolt it donw. Second, the spotter arms are too narrow for my boyfriend when he benches. He has a pretty long wingspan, so this won't be an issue for most normal sized folks (it's not even close to an issue for me). If you are concerned about it and spotter arms for benching is a deal breaker for you, I'd recommend measuring your wingspan from elbow to elbow. The distance between the uprights (and thus the spotter arms) is 42 inches, so if your elbow-to-elbow width is close to that or greater, you might clip the spotter arms. Overall, I give this squat rack a 5/5 rating. It's a great option if you're on a budget and need a squat rack with a small profile. It is strong and sturdy, and has everything you need to lift safely at home. I might have shelled out more money for a real power rack if I owned a home with a garage. But for my apartment patio gym, this is the perfect piece of equipment. ... show more

  • Best bang for your buck
Style: Premium Rack
First review ever, so bare with me. I purchased this squat rack for my home gym. Like many others I want to build my home gym on a budget and I have limited space in my garage to fit a cage. So after plenty of research I decided that I wanted to give this rack a try. I was pleasantly surprised at quality of this rack and the build of it. Sure it has its minor issues but that comes with a budget rack. This rack has the potential to be very sturdy if bolted down. I don’t regret my decision at all. Maybe in the far future I’ll upgrade when I get a home with much more space. One major issue I have noticed people mention is that the diameters doesn’t allow for attachments. That is true and false at once. Attachments from other companies such as Titan, Rouge, Rep, etc will not fit this rack because they only go as low as 2x2 with 1” holes and this rack is 1.97x1.97 with .80” holes. HOWEVER, Sunny Health does have their own attachments available for this rack such as the dip bars, landlines, and lat pull downs. So personally I have no issues because those attachments are a lot cheaper and the quality of it is just as good. Pros: Build quality Budget friendly Sturdy Size Easy to build Handles heavy weights Cons: Coating is easily scratched Paint chips easily Unable to use attachments from other companies ... show more

  • Decent Rack
Style: Premium Rack
Pros: cost-wise it was on the lower middle range, and it's actually slightly cheaper now than when I bought it three years ago. It has the safety arms, which was important for me. Easy to assemble. Cons: i don't think it's "unsafe" but it does have more wobble than ideal, when loaded for heavier squats. Not a well-known brand, and I haven't known it to have a lot of accessories to purchase down the road, aftermarket or otherwise. Safety arms could be longer. I think it's between 1-1.5 ft, which means I don't have a huge margin of error if I want to bail the squat onto the arms. The plate holder is angled diagonally (as opposed to facing straight out to the sides), which can make it awkward to load, esp if the rack is placed in a corner or against a wall ... show more

  • Great power rack for small spaces
Style: Premium Rack
I just bought this power rack a week ago and I love it already. The product packaging had no issues or dent. All the parts fit well together and it was easy to assembly; took me about an hour and a half. I would recommend having your own adjustable wrench to help with tightening the bolts as tight as possible. The rack comes with 2 wrenches but they are the ones with 2 wrench heads and I found it difficult to twist the bolts after a certain point because of the pain of the wrench head digging into my hand. After I finished assembling, I did some pull ups on the bar to test the sturdiness. It was more sturdy than I expected and did not move at all. I tried normal and v-sit pullups, then some leg raises; I am 5'9'' and weight 150 lbs. I did not need weights on the back to stabilize, which was great! I have used a 7ft barbell on this for the past week for squats and bench presses and it has been doing great. The support arms are really short so I cannot step more than a step away from the rack. I still have plenty of room to squat so this does not bother me. One of the j-hooks is also not flush with the rack but I am just careful when I rerack and I have no issues. Now, I am no powerlifter or anything so I am not putting absurd amounts of weight on this thing. I think it is good for Beginner and Intermediate level bodybuilders/ weight lifter. I think if you are consistently repping 300 lbs, you should get something else haha. I have this rack set up in a 11'x12' room that also has a treadmill in it. It does not take up too much space and I feel I can use it freely, even with my wife doing yoga on the other half of the room. I have it set up on gym mats in a carpeted room and the mats stay perfectly in place. Overall, I am very happy that I went with this power rack. It is a great addition to my home gym! ... show more

  • Extremely Impressed With Rack
Style: Premium Rack
This rack is extremely well made and thought out. I believe it is made for a room with a ceiling height of 8' or more. My ceiling height is about 3 inches shy of 8', so I was unable to place the pull up bar at the highest bolt holes. I do my pull ups with slightly bent legs. If I had it at the top bolt holes, I would be fine, but I would guess if you are taller than say 5'10 or 11 inches, you will have to bend you legs for pull ups. This would happen with any 8' ceiling rack, but if the ceiling were higher, there are racks with a heigher pull up bar. I have not had a problem with the pull up bar smoothness. I would never want knurling there. I have only had 180 lbs on the j cups and spotter arms, but I am sure it can hold way more. They bar feels very sturdy. The j cups and safety bars have a hard rubber on the bottoms and one side of the j cups. They protect your bar. The plate storage posts have a rubber bumper against the rack so the plates are not setting against metal. The plates slide easily off the post. The spotter arms are shorter than some racks, and work fine for bench pressing. They would work for squatting, but you have to approach bar the opposite way i usually do. Everything was well thought out. It is sturdy. I am 5'8" and 155 pounds. This rack is a great value. ... show more

  • Sturdy, Small Footprint, Weightlifting Rack Sturdy, Small Footprint, Weightlifting Rack
Style: Premium Rack
This is a great, economical, space saving, squat rack. I have limited space in my garage, so this was the perfect option (I can't fit a power cage and had only approximatrly 20-inches of clearance behind my truck). It took approximately 1.5 hours to assemble (having a socket wrench helps) on my own. I previously had a Bang Tong & Li Squat Stand Rack (approximately $100). It was a good rack and worth buying if you can't fit this one, but I never felt comfortable or safe to perform squats on that stand (bench and military presses were fine). This Sunny Health Squat Rack has the safety, capacity, and features of higher end squat racks at a great price. It comes with weight plate holders and adjustable height pull up bar. I was even able to add a landmine attachment that fits perfectly. There are holes to bolt this to the ground, but the stand is perfect stable unbolted. I'm sure there are higher quality squat stands. But this is perfect given my current space constraints. Some drawbacks to consider (THAT ARE COMPLETELY OUTLINED IN OTHER REVIEWS AND DISCLOSED), are the 0.8 inch peg holes so typical 1 inch attachments from other brands won't fit. There are however attachments you can buy from Sunny Health that fit this squat stand. Additionally, if you have this backed up against a wall, the largest plate you will be able to fit is a 10 pound plate. Also, a 6 foot bar CAN fit this rack, however the spacing needs to be 47 inches between loading pins (see photo, my Sporzon 6' barbell doesn't fit, but the Titan 6' barbell will fit). Other than these minor drawbacks, I am very pleased with this rack. ... show more

  • Very satisfied! Sturdy and well designed.
Style: Premium Rack
If I had to complain about something, I would say how it was shipped. It came shipped in a single box which arrived with a large hole torn out of one end. I thought there would be pieces missing, but to my surprise, everything was still there. It was somewhat heavy and very awkward. The assembly looked daunting at first, but was surprisingly simple. I don't remember how long it took, but it was faster than I expected. The rack is sturdy and well made. I wish the spotter arms could be just a little longer, but they get the job done. There are pegs for exercise bands attached to the spotter arms. I initially put them on as the instructions indicated, however I found out they interfere with the weights when doing a bench press if you are not perfectly centered, so I took them off. (I have never used bands anyway) Overall I would say I am very happy with my purchase. It was well worth the price. ... show more
