  • Worked great
Worked great to remove stubborn axle.

  • Worth every penny even at twice the cost. Time savings is incredible.
I don't know how I missed these for so many years when I even was looking for a tool to help make CV axle removal easier. The last time I had to pull the front CV axles on my GMC canyon pickup it took over 90 minutes with cold chisels and misery and pain to get the first one to pop out. This tool took about 10 or 15 seconds to pull each axle honestly. I used a 3 pound mini-sledge and it took about 3 or 4 good whacks to pop each one out. I cannot overstate how happy I am with this tool and how much time it saved me., ... show more

  • Excellent tool
Worked perfectly on the first try. Got a stuck CV Axle and slide hammer puller did not fit. Tried vise grip several times with CV axle as slide hammer and it did not work. Also tried pry bar and it did not work. Screw around with other methods for a couple of days until I decided to get this and this got the CV axle out within 10 minutes. I can see the axle was pretty rusted after getting it out. ... show more

  • Easy and fits a subaru transmission.
I needed to replace a front CV on my '11 Subaru forester and I wanted to get an actual tool instead of using a screw driver or a tire spoon to pry it out. This wedge fork works perfectly to remove it. The splined shaft fits between the tines and the wedge shape is thin enough to get under the cup. It pulled the cv shaft straight out and I'm happy. ... show more

  • THE way to remove half shafts
I don't usually write reviews, but this thing is great. I had a half shaft on a 2001 Dakota that was stuck like you wouldn't believe. It laughed at the 5lb slide hammer and 7' bar. This tool was too big to fit behind the half shaft, but that's not its fault. I cut the forks off with a grinder and took out about 5/8" and welded them back on. The opening between the forks was about 1-3/8" after. That got it moving. I did have to use a fan wrench as a spacer to get it to pop all the way off. It comes with the other fork to space it out, but it was much too thick. So if you're working on a Dakota, you may want to see if you can find a narrower one. But the concept is sound and the tool is well built. ... show more

  • Separates CV joints
This was the only way to remove a very stuck CV axle from the differential on a 2004 Toyota Sequoia. A mechanic gave up trying to remove it, and suggested that I just replace the front differential because he was sure there was something internally damaged preventing it from coming out. Well, after removing the diff from the car, I tried one more time in a large vice to wedge the cv axle out with the pickle fork. 50 hammers with a 5lb sledge later and it shot across the garage free! It was an aftermarket cv axle, and it looks like the snap ring had square edges that would not slide over the inside splines of the diff. The snap ring had deep gouges all around after it finally came out. My only complaint is that the fork prongs were a little too close together to fit around the inside part of the cv axle, so I had to grind them down about an 1/8” to get them to fit. ... show more

  • Didn't fit my 4Runner
These are very basic tools. While they apparently work to extract CV axles from many vehicles, I could not see how they fit on a 4th gen 4Runner CV axle, so I returned the set.
