  • Nice Strong Filament that Prints Highly Accurate and Precise Pieces
Color: Bundle 4000g Black+black+black+black Size: 4KG
Am new to 3D printing and I find this filament excellent. Compared to PLA it is very strong and far less brittle. Top surfaces also finish more finely with the same (.04 mm) nozzle as compared to PLA. Am using a Bambu A1 which now has filament profiles for this an other Sunlu filaments. As an experiment, I printed a small yet detailed small part using both "generic PETG" and "Sunlu PETG" filament presets. In my opinion, the Sunlu preset resulted in a more finely finished product. Print time [seems] to increase by about a third compared to PLA. It adheres very strongly to a textured plate even after it has cooled. My first pieces using this filament are an interlocking and adjustable assembly of my own design. I had to adjust tolerances slightly compared to PLA due to improved dimensional accuracy of the finished product. ... show more

  • The best GITD filament I've used.
Color: Petg Glow in the Dark-green to Glow Green Size: 1KG
While other brand's GITD filaments either have barely any glowing material, or contain the kind that looses its charge extremely quickly, Sunlu's offering actually performs. Plus, the spool that this filament comes on is similar to the resuable spools that come with Bambu filament, as they can be twisted apart to accept unspooled filament refills. The spool isn't shaped like Bambu spools however, so someone has created an adapter you can print and slip on to the spool if you plan to use it with a Bambu Lab AMS system. Without the adapter, the spool can drag on the bottom of the AMS and not feed properly/cause wear. GITD filament is abrasive. Make sure you have hardened nozzles and extruder gears, or they will wear out quickly. ... show more

  • Great filament prints easy and clean and has great glow.
Color: 2kg Black+orange Size: 2KG
Before I would use only overture glow filament because many reviews (both on amazon and YouTube) said it was best glowing but I was extremely happy with this sunlu blue glow in the dark filament. This PETG not only printed great but the glow was really bright and lasted a long time, now I disagree and am disappointed with them advertising it will glow for hours thats just not possible and should be corrected. But the product does have a long lasting and bright glow for about 20-30mins which is impressive compared to even the overture and had a slight glow for maybe an hour and they should be honest about that its a good result. Great to make glow beads for keychains or wallets so if you loose the, shine a flashlight around and you will see the glow. Always loved anything glow in the dark since i was a kid and being able to make anything I want to print glow in the dark is fun even as an adult. ... show more

  • Good in Bulk
Color: Bundle 4kg White+blue+green+red Size: 4KG
I’d say this is one of the best budget filament options available on Amazon. It’s not going to give you perfection, but stands it’s ground against other competitors that are in a higher price range. The bundles are recommended for affordability. 3D prints using SUNLU PETG filament are not as strong or accurate in color as other options, yet the increase in print speed and affordability can make up for the downsides. Prints using this filament looks great after a bit of post-processing. Some might notice minor stringing and artifacts if printing above 50 mm/s. Drying the filament for 2-3 hours could yield better results overall. Color accuracy can be improved for SUNLU red PETG filament (a bit pinkish in color). Blue, Green, and White look as expected when prints finish. If you’re looking for filament without issues, then you will come to find out that is not possible. You have to pick which issue(s) to work with. I’ve used more expensive brands that are very sensitive to temperature or string like crazy. SUNLU PETG filament is a good balance for the right price. ... show more

  • Tested multiple rolls - Very likely NOT PETG as advertised
Tl;dr: This stuff is junk and borders on fraud. I print exclusively in PETG for my shop and am confident this material isn't what SUNLU claims. Failed my heat at 150F (65C) warping under its own weight, prints like crap and is extremely brittle, and is the only spool I've had fuse together in a filament dehydrator at 65C. Probably not just a bad batch either based on experience a separate order. DO NOT buy this material. In addition to this one spool I purchased off of Amazon, I recently ordered 10 rolls of PETG directly from the manufacturer under their sub-brand, JAYO, and I can confidently say this stuff is either 1) NOT PETG as the claim and actually PLA or 2) PETG that has been mixed with poor additives which have compromised its material properties. The only reason I made this separate purchase was to confirm my findings from the bulk order, and despite having different brand names the spools and labels are completely identical. No doubt they come from the same manufacturer. Context: I print items for my shop that I need to be reliably heat-safe since they are often used to support computer hardware in warm environments. Normal PETG offers the perfect balance of heat resistance, consistent print quality, and minimal fuss. This SUNLU material (I won't even call it PETG) offers NONE of that. Printing at 230C on a reliable Prusa MK3S, this stuff is ridiculously stringy. It’s almost like if you tried to print PLA with the nozzle temp way too high (hmmm…. Interesting). My first thought was the spool had just been packaged in a humid warehouse and needed to be dehydrated (and cynical me assumed this was intentional to help sell their filament dehydrators). No problem, I’ll just put it in my usual PETG dehydrators for 8 hours at 150F (65C), and- oh… the spool has almost completely fused together!! To be clear, I use my dehydrator on dozens of PETG spools each month, sometimes up to 24 hours, and I’ve never had a PETG spool do this. The filaments began making a peeling sound as it’s unwound from the spool and broke 3 times trying to print with it. I then took the one successful, albeit extremely stringy/globby, print (from before dehydrating the spool) and tested it to another made with the same gcode using my usual PETG supply. After 20 minutes of hanging from the shelf of my dehydrator oven at 150F (65C), the SUNLU bracket completely warped under its own weight. I am so glad I checked because this could have caused a serious hardware failure for one of my customers had I just cleaned up the stinging and sold it as-is. After the print cooled I then removed it and just tried to break it in my hands and the piece snapped violently, through small plastic shrapnel in all directions. Normally, most PETG prints fail in a more “flexible” way- stretching and lightening in color under stress rather than shattering… like PLA. Finally, SULU’s documentation for their PETG is kinda all over the place. From the paper inserts with each spool to what’s printed on the box to the documentation on their website, you’ll find conflicting guidance. They acknowledge that it should be heat-resistant up to 180F (~80C) but also recommend printing it as low as 200C – the same as PLA… For reference, I normally print PETG at 240C with a 90C bed on my MK3S with fantastic results. I really wanted to give SUNLU the benefit of the doubt that I had just received a few bad spools in bulk, but after testing this spool from Amazon from a completely different manufacturing date I see that they are just selling extremely poor-quality material. To their credit, after much (frustrating) back and forth with their customer service team, I received a refund for the bulk order, and I will be returning this spool to Amazon ASAP as the material clearly isn’t what it’s advertised to be. Were I a novice printer and this were my first experience with PETG I’d be completely turned off by it. If anyone at SUNLU happens to see this: please do better. Y’all are too big in this space to be so careless. ... show more
