I have owned these now for 3 1/2 years, bought in January 2020. Ported and Tuned to the specs recommended by Sundown Audio these tiny subs really perform as designed. They can handle extreme low bass notes and have held up to constant use and abuse as I have pushed them as hard as I can with a 1000W Mono Amp. They are in a 2019 Tacoma and I have absolutely no complaints except that I cant find a Speaker cover for them to protect them against the back seat. Would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting good clear and deep bass notes for areas where larger subs are not an option. ... show more

Just buy them! Amazing bass, only running 2 in a GR86. If you think you need more cone space run 4.

I haven't put this thing into a spec box, but rather put it into a transmission line enclosure and the results are absolutely amazing. Excellent output (123db @440w rms in my Civic), frequency response from about 25hz up to 200hz (although most music sounds best with xover set at 80 or 100hz,) total box volume somewhere between .75-1 cu ft. The sound coming from this has actually made my door speakers produce a much cleaner bass sound and mixes with the sub so well it doesn't even sound like I have a sub in the back, but rather a full sounding door speakers instead. I will give it five stars just because this thing is built super tough and has done an amazing job, the only thing stopping me from buying a second woofer,is that it nearly costs me $400 Canadian dollars to get one here and I don't know of any Canadian distributors to obtain one. ... show more

Did a ton of research (googling) to find a sub that would fit under the rear seat of my 07 tundra, not take up a bunch of space, and fully utilize the 250 watt RMS I had available on my helix B5 amp. This is awesome! I'm assuming due to its small size, it's response is great for all types of music. Sounds crisp when playing rock and can hit pretty good given the tuning of the box you put it in when playing rap. I have had multiple sundown speakers over the years and this doesn't disappoint. It will not blow u away with volume, if compared to a 10", but it deleivers good volume and excellent range. I built a ported box for a single .25ft³ net volume tuned to 30hz. I would recommend this for anyone who has limited space but wants clean sound and nice bass. ... show more

    • One smallish sub but perfect for my application.
I've had the 8's in the past for different setups, but this 6.5 will be a stealth setup inside my spare tire in the 2018 Tiguan for my wife. It just needs a little more bump for me. FYI - nowhere I sound the mounting depth of 3 3/4 . I heard 4 but was 100% sure. With 600watts this should really be about perfect for any small system.
