  • Good Pole Saw
Style: Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
I have had this pole saw for 3 years. It cuts well and I have been able to cut a lot of branches that I wouldn't have been able to manage without this. It can be a bit heavy but not an issue if not at the edge of the extension. I weight is good to help keep the saw on what you are cutting. Never had much issue with kickback. I have a cordless pole saw that is lighter that kicks back a bit but the sun joe never has given me that issue. It is a true workhorse for a saw. 2 main cons I have. The first is the bar oil does leak if you have it stored upright. Not a big deal for me, I fill it up each time I use it. The second issue is the end of life for the saw. The screw for the blade tightener stripped out and is now gone. I can no longer use the saw because without that one screw I can not tighten the blade. Would definitely have lasted longer had this not happen. I guess 3 years of use isn't too bad for the price. I would buy this pole saw if I was looking for a corded one. It is pretty powerful (more powerful than a cordless pole saw I have). It is very convenient and can power through just about anything you put it on. ... show more

  • POWERFUL & VERSATILE! 🏋️♂️
Style: Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
I needed a chainsaw with a telescopic pole to trim trees. I never heard of Sunjoe but thought I'd take a chance. This one fit the bill! It's very strong and cuts down small limbs like butter! You can easily adjust the length of the saw by way of a strong click clamp that's built into the pole. You can also adjust the chain saw head unit in several angles that will help you to lock onto the tree limb and it basically supports it's own weight. Easy to use and operate. I was able to install and align the chain with one hand. After several hours of use the chain came loose one time. With the included tool, I was able to put the chain back on in under 2 minutes. Hasn't gotten loose again. The included tool has a slotted screwdriver to keep the chain tight. This does NOT come with oil for the chainsaw so you must buy that separately. Only oil suitable for chainsaws is what is required. Very low kickback and many safety guards to keep the user safe. Definitely recommended. 😎 I would post a pic but the product pics are totally accurate enough. ... show more

  • Really impressed with the power.
Style: Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
In the week since I got this saw, I've used it to trim 8 trees on my property. I've put it through a lot of use in a short time as you can tell from the piles of cut branches. Positives: The angle adjustment is very useful for making sure you're cutting from the top down on higher up branches. Failure to do so can result in a bind of your bar and chain (see below). The saw is powerful and cut through branches up to 4"-5" thick without breaking a sweat, mostly letting the weight of the saw do the work. The lock on the extension is solid and it doesn't feel flimsy, even fully extended. The trigger safety is intuitive to operate. Negatives The locking mechanism for the angle adjustment doesn't seem robust. After about four trees is started to lose the lock a bit on downward cuts. Not a huge deal. The foam handle tears easily. It was in the pictured condition after two trees. Again, not a huge deal. I also had the experience of the saw binding up when I was cutting a branch about 10' up. The bar bent and the chain will no longer track. It did not, however, burn out the motor, which I'm thankful for. Overall I really like this saw and it's a great value, especially priced only $10 more than a lot of the manual pruning pole saws. ... show more

  • Works Great
Style: Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
My husband loves this. Every year after mango season we trim out tree back to keep it low. This saw works great and saves so much time. Saws through the branches with ease.

  • Well-made; performance exceeded expectations. Usable length closer to 8 ft.
Style: Pole Saw Size: 10-Inch Bar/Chain Configuration: 8.8' Max. Extension
Quite easy to assemble; takes about 15 minutes following the instructions. The package does *not* include chain saw bar oil, so you'll need to purchase oil and fill the reservoir before you can safely use the saw. This saw made easy work of trimming unruly Cypress tree branches 20 feet high, easily cutting thru 6-inch diameter limbs. Addressing the length, I've attached some photos of my measurements. The advertised 15-foot reach includes the height and reach of the user. The saw itself is only 98 inches tip to tip (not including the power dongle). Considering a user's grip position and safe cutting zones of the blade, I'd estimate effective cutting length is 8 feet from the user's grip. The handle/trigger is optimized for right-hand users; a safety interlock button on the left side of the handle/trigger assembly must be depressed with the thumb before the trigger can be activated with fingers. When using the saw left-handed, I had to take extra precautions to use the saw safely. The unit is reasonably compact and essay to maneuver; however, very dense foliage can make it tricky to maneuver into place to make the cut safely. The multi-angle feature was handy in several situations to make the cut more safely (than if the feature was not available). Weight is reasonable and as I expected. Just be aware: as the length of the extension is increased, so too is the effort required to maneuver and operate the saw. (Think of strapping a 5-lb bag of sugar to one end of an 8-ft 2x2 and holding it out from the other end.) The extension is very solid with no flexing, easy to adjust even atop a 10-ladder, and it locks securely. The locking force may be adjusted by the user with the included wrench. In summary, the saw is well-made and exceeded my expectations given the low price I paid on Amazon with free shipping. Cuts I would not attempt with a pole pruning saw took about 10 seconds with this tool. ... show more
