Re: Sun Joe SWJ599E 14-inch 9-Amp 20220907: Dropped overall rating from 4-star to 3-star. Just called SJ customer support and they were practically useless. Told me their 14" chain was out of stock but they did not know any OEM chains that would work on the SWJ599E saw. Based on support call it sounded like SJ was one of many companies they support NOT very well. 20220906: I re-checked the chain and found no OEM markings to help verify chain source or cut angle. 20220904: Per SJ's operator's manual (Form No. SJ-SWJ599E-880E-MR2), the chain for this unit is SWJ-14CHAIN. I rate the "EN" portion of the operator's manual 2-star for completeness, diagrams and use to the new owner. This chain is not sold by amazon. The manual does not provide any other chain specs besides chain length. SJ's website does not list any chainsaw blade for the swj599e. Not on amazon, the manual or the sj website will you find a way to determine the pitch and gauge of the included chain. 20220901: Out of the box barely was able to keep chain at required tension. Tension screw is slotted, I expect to strip the screw slot before the motor dies. The tension screw design might be better if it was a "torx" head for longer life. It took me 50 minutes plus to drop an 18 inch (height) and 24 inch diameter stump down to almost ground level using the SWJ599E. Test one = 3-stars 20220830: amazon SWJ ratings and comments mix and match swj chainsaw models. It is NOT always clear from the Q&A which model applies to the answers. ... show more

It greatly exceeded my expectations and generally met my hopes - I carved up a mesquite stump (after supplying it with oil) much more easily than I expected. I'm a 35 year old woman who has a huge yard out in the country and a husband who works all the time. We heat with wood so qe have a big huge chainsaw but I wanted something for cutting hedges and small trees. I dulled the chain on this in one week. I bought a Dremel tool with a ln attachment for sharpening the blade. I absolutely love this thing. I went chainsaw crazy and completely transformed my overgrown yard.
