I purchased 2 pumps because of the high gph output, the lift, the 1.6 hp motor rating and low price. It's a very powerful pump that I use in my koi pond's waterfall application. I'm hoping that longevity will be equal to its performance. My first pump locked up after 4 - 5 months. I'm using the second pump now. I'm hoping this one lasts at least 2 to 3 years. Because I like this particular pump so much I've actually purchased 2 more pumps. The cost of these 4 pumps is comparable to one name brand pump that may also last 2 to 3 years. I'm hoping that longevity is not an issue because it's performance is really exceptional. Time will tell. I'll update this review as necessary to provide longterm performance results. Longevity does not seem to be an issue. My second pump is going on it's second season and I'm pleased with it's performance. ... show more

    • Finally a pump that moves the water as it claims!

We use a submersible pump to run water from our pool through black pipe coils on the roof of our patio cover and back to make use of solar heat. We've done this for a few years and have had problems finding a pump that matches its stated capacity for GPH and rise. In fact, it's moving the water so much more efficiently than our last pump that we have re-attached some coils and will add additional. We typically only get a season out of our pumps due to internal rust and feel that's fine for us since we're not forking out cash for a stainless steel pump that may or may not last long for other reasons. I have no idea how long this pump will run, but this price is fair enough for us to consider it a one year use pump. We will be pleasantly surprised if we get more than that. ... show more

Don’t like the paddle because it is too long and catches on the side of the sump wall. Had figured out the clip that holds the paddle cable will allow shortening the float side just by pulling it back through the clamp. The flexible pvc hose is the best for pulling this pump out to check it. I have a bunch of junk that makes its way to the sump and added a nylon bag to prevent thick lint and paint chips from making way to the plastic impeller. I would have liked if the impeller was cast iron or stainless steel. For $79 Dollars US i am happy with such a powerful pump that sucks out the water in a matter of a few minutes instead of a wimpy 1/6hp that would burn up before discharging one cycle. Have had it now for several weeks and had multiple rain without issues of flooding. Would recommend and will buy again and add a second sump trap for backup. ... show more

Used this for moving overflow rain water from back deck to front yard. Worked great the first 3 times I used it, but now it no longer works and only worked for 6 months, maybe 3 hours total! No product support after 3 months and its now garbage, won’t turn on.
