This moves person & washable pad very easily. The all around handles are necessary since the patient often slides towards the foot of the bed, even when the knees are lifted. Someone suggested getting a more cotton one when I complained that the pads (positioning & washable) slide out from under her bc she doesn't seem to be heavy enough to stay with the pads. The cotton type, although made great, was horrible. It stuck to the fitted sheet, so when I pulled on it, it pulled the fitted sheet, the pads under the fitted sheet, & the air mattress. So, I bought another one of these, so I can swap them out to wash them.

I got this for my mother in law after gallbladder surgery and it was extremely helpful for her! While we did not exactly use it to carry her, we did help her position herself some, and also it was good for her to use during recovery. It is quite durable and could be used for a variety of things. I think it would also work well for little kids who spill things, or still have accidents, on a couch, or in the car for dogs, or in a trunk while transporting flowers, mulch, etc. I think this is a great, well made product! Took pictures to show the the size of this product on a king sized bed. This fit a 160 pound 5'11 person with no problem - and I doubt this would work on a larger person with a lot of girth. The handles are easy to grab but are not padded (see picture). This works well for a bed roll and I took a picture of it folded so you can see how easy it would be to roll a person, place this under them, then roll them back to have it placed fully under them to help position them. There is no crinkly sound that would scare some one with dementia. I have not tried to wash it yet - but it has a flexible tarp like surface and seems that fluids will be easy to wash off with disinfecting soap and water. The webbing side of this goes face down away from the person. This is super handy to have so you are not tugging at the fragile skin and limbs of someone who is bed ridden. It makes repositioning very easy. This is a relatively good price and super easy to store and travel with. Hope the pictures help and I could not include the person being repositioned as they did not consent to being photographed. Happy caretaking...and remember to take care of yourself too!

This made moving and repositioning my father in law so much easier than the way we were trying to do it with a sheet. This product was big enough to fit underneath him and he’s 6’2 weighing 200 pounds currently. With two of us we were able to grab the handles to bring him up to a sitting position in the bed and also turn him to either side when changing him and his pads underneath him. The handles were very sturdy and durable. The pad itself was tough and able to be wiped down to clean it. It was also waterproof. If you have someone that is bed bound that you are taking care of then you need one of these or even two so you have an extra while you are cleaning the one you just took out from under them. They are a great value for the price. This has been a lifesaver for us. It is still work taking care of him and rolling him over then lifting him or moving him farther up in the bed but this product makes the work so much easier. There are handles on ever side of this pad so it doesn’t matter which way the pad is turned you still have a place to get a good grip. So glad I found this and bought it. I will definitely be recommending this to others who are in the same situation that we are in.

If you're familiar with the Mega-Mover (80*40 inch, $29.64, ASIN: B00URFK4PE), this item is smaller, more expensive, and the fabric is probably slightly more durable while the straps look weaker. I will add that the Mega-Mover is more of a cloth litter, while this positioning pad is for repositioning, although the Mega-Mover can be used for repositioning too. The stitching isn't perfect, but it'll be OK for repositioning. For moving a patient, it might not be very durable, as the straps are not reinforced anywhere. As a repositioning pad or as an emergency cloth litter, I think it would be OK. I'll be using mine as an emergency litter, except I could only do a four-person carry, instead of a six-person carry.

This is a must if you have elderly parents with limited mobility. This makes it so much easier to move and reposition them in bed by yourself. I would not let them sleep on it for very long since it is plastic coated and has straps sewed onto back, not the most comfortable. But again, to move them this is a must. Item is very well made and durable/water resistant, easy to clean.

This review is for the following item: Positioning Bed Pad with Handles,Bed Pads for Elderly, Draw Sheets for Hospital Bed, Reusable & Washable, for Turning, Lifting & Repositioning, 48" x 40" This positioning pad is a bit small. The handles are web strap handles which are very sturdy and well sewn to the positioning pad, but they do cut into your hands if you are trying to reposition a heavy person by yourself. Possibly if you had a helper, then the handles would not cut into your hands quite as bad. There is no storage bag included with this positioning pad, so no nice way to store it when it is not needed. Also if you are taking this to and from your place of employment, a storage bag would be very helpful to have. The pad itself is waterproof and is easily cleaned. It is suggested to wash this pad at less than 113 degrees Fahrenheit or 45 degrees Celsius. I have looked this pad over very thoroughly and feel that it is very sturdy and will last a long time. I just wish more thought would have been put into the handles and that a carry bag would have been included.

This review is for the Sturdy Positioning Bed Pad with Reinforced Handles 48" x 40". My MIL lives with us and she is a large woman and her health has been declining and it is hard to help her get out of bed. We slide this sheet under her and are able to use the handles to help her sit up. It is also waterproof and sturdy. We use this sheet every day. Good quality. We also use it on the couch for her and are able to transfer her easily. Handles are strong.
