Great cover. Heavy denier material and plastic lined on the inside to block moisture. Nicely sewn seams. Looks professional. Buy the size that is closest to your outer dimensions to your AC unit. It comes in three sizes to accommodate most any size AC unit. I folded it into the inside of itself to make a nice neat fit and appearance on the outside. The straps that come with it are good, and should secure the cover to your AC unit even in extremely windy areas if you place them on the AC unit properly. Just remember to tighten them after your first storm when the straps get wet. Nylon stretches when it gets wet. Then you should be good to go until you remove them at winters end. If you really wanted to get extreme and insulate you can place some insulation around the unit before placing the cover on it. But, all in all a very nice cover that should last many years. Great product!!! Would I purchase it again? In a heartbeat!!!

Very glad I bought this! It is thick, heavy, well-constructed and keeps the air conditioner clean and protected. It comes with some adjustable straps to tighten it down to the air conditioner. I was concerned because I live in an area with very high winds and I had a terrible kind trying to keep a cover on an air conditioner before it. This one won't blow off and away. It fits my smaller air conditioner perfectly.

The thing seems well made & sturdy & looks neat and spiffy. It's held in place by 2 belt-like straps, and the buckle for tightening them to fit does not really let you tighten them fully. I'm sure I could shorten the straps by another 2 or 3 inches and then they would hug the air conditioner really securely, but not with the kind of buckle that's on there now. That's a design flaw for sure. Blurb for cover brags that it covers not just top and sides but also bottom of air conditioner, and indeed it does, but now that I see it in place i'm not sure that's a good thing. Seems possible that water could get inside and stay trapped there -- will have to wait and see how that works out when it rains.

UPDATE: . Getting ready to install this cover for the third winter season, October thru May. It still works great, keeping the weather out, though the sun has faded the outer material noticeably to a light gray after 2 seasons. Just bought another for a second 8000 BTU window AC unit, which I don't want to have to remove anymore. They seem to get heavier year on year! ;-) The SMALL size (the dimensions of which are typical for all small covers) won't fit quite as snug since that unit is only 18.5 inch W x 12 inch H. The straps will take up the slack, which I'll force to the underside. . ORIGINAL REVIEW: . Just received and fitted the "Small" window AC cover. It is a heavy-duty fabric material, with a smooth waterproof inner lining. The seams are reinforced with an additional fabric strip. While slightly larger and longer than the AC unit, it is an easy install and close to a perfect fit for my unit, covering all five sides. The additional length ensures that the cover "seals" well against the window. The two simple straps with plastic snap-fit buckles fasten the cover tightly onto the AC unit, primarily clamping it at the corners. After the install, I did tuck the lower seams under (third photo) so as to eliminate the "trough" (second photo) that could collect debris, water and snow. I also was able to ensure the bottom tray of the AC unit was dry as it's been off for a few days and the weather has been dry. This AC unit is the type that purposely collects water in the bottom to make it more efficient and there's no drain plug. Any water left in the bottom would be a great source of mold and potential ice in the winter! I can see that this will protect and eliminate drafts through the AC unit, but it's not going to insulate it from the cold as it's not that type of material. The black color will absorb some heat on sunny days though, which will help to warm the cold air inside the unit. Some cold air will convect into the room through the vents as we don't currently plan to fit a cover on the inside. This is the first time we've left the 12,000 BTU window AC in place over the winter (it's getting too much to lift it out every year, clean it and carry it up to the attic - a 2 person job). So, these next few months will tell how well this product works. I will be updating the review in the future. At $21, very pleased with the value so far.

First off - this review is not based on a free product. I bought a larger cover from the same manufacturer (Sturdy Covers) last year for our permanent through the wall mount air conditioner. I figured I would purchase another cover for a smaller (but still heavy) window unit this year that I decided to leave in permanently year round. I purchased a less expensive cover from Amazon and saw how small of a package it came in. I figured that one was not going to proved much better than using a trash back with bungee cords. So I returned it and bought the same size cover from Sturdy Covers. The adage "you get what you pay for" has proven that the Sturdy Covers brand is far superior and much better made than the other cover I returned. These folks probably make the best cover out there. I suggest paying a little more for a vastly superior product. Thank you Sturdy Covers!

Fit my Midea 12,000 U series windows AC like a glove, underneath protection also included as its a 4-sided thing which is amazing for this price point. Very sturdy material and the cable given is sufficient.

I ordered the wrong size, but I don't like returning purchases. So, it is fine. As long as it blocks the air from getting in my apartment. It is working. My heater isn't running as much. Thank you. It was a good purchase. I am happy with it. Waiting for the indoor cover. That should keep the air from getting through the AC 94%.

So far it's stayed on. We'll see what a New England Winter with snow and winds do to it. It is looser than the picture and there are straps to hold it on. Like I said, time will tell. The picture doesn't show the straps which are very sturdy and can be adjusted for a tight fit.
