Alpine Hardware offers 3 types of Window AC Brackets. There are 2 Different Models of Window AC Brackets that require drilling where the difference is 1 arm of support or 2 arms of support. Both the one arm and two arm models have a light/medium duty and heavy duty size. For a further look at the sizes, look down below. We offer 1 type of Window AC Bracket that is Drill-Less and does not need to be drilled into the window sill. What's needed for this to work? The window AC bracket adapts to most window styles, and will work with a wall thickness from 3" to 12". Do I need to drill for this model? Alpine Hardware's ac brackets are all weather steel construction with an easy indoor installation. Our window support brackets eliminates exterior work with no drilling of outside wall or siding. Our one arm and two arm models require DRILLING into the WINDOW SILL. The Drill-Less Model does not require drilling into the Window Sill. See below for further specs. This supports up to 85lbs and is a light/medium duty 1 arm bracket. This supports up to 160lbs and is a heavy duty 1 arm bracket. This supports up to 105 lbs and is a light duty 2 arm bracket. This supports up to 180lbs and is a heavy duty 2 arm bracket. This supports well over 200lbs and is a heavy duty bracket that is Drill-Less. This means it does not need drilled into the window sill.

Please read first. This product is great once it's put together. The written instructions are the worst however. But there is a great video on Youtube. Make sure to watch the entire video until the end before you assemble it. I became quite frustrated with having to unscrew nuts and screws to adjust it to my window situation more than once. The video helps. The assembly instructions deserve negative stars but once you set this up it's the best. Luckily it will be all ready for next year without having to assemble it again. As the title states, this is one of the worst purchases I have ever made. From a design and metal quality standpoint it’s fine, but trying to put this thing together took literally hours, and that was with two people. The included directions might as well not exist, and the video for it is also an absolute disaster, it should banned from YouTube. There was not enough hardware included to build it properly, so I was only able to use 75% of the included screws\bolts. I have absolutely 0 clue what its actually doing in my window right now or if it’s even really holding up the air conditioner. I was able to eventually cobble it together, but that was only after taking it apart and putting it back together about 5x... Both the directions and the video show you how to build the item, and then in the following steps essentially tell you to completely take it apart again. • If you hate yourself enough to buy this item, or you are really desperate and live in an apartment like I do where you can’t readily drill into your windows, I advise watching the video IN FULL (don’t bother reading the directions they were written by someone with wet brain), from start to finish, several times.... And while building this thing, if you find yourself with not enough hardware, pray. Just pray and believe and hope that this thing will stay together and not come crashing down and take out the person's AC who lives below you. ... show more

I purchased three of these brackets for use with window ACs ranging from 5000 to 12000 BTU. The bracket does take some time to assemble, then partially disassemble and reassemble once you discover that the legs aren't attached to the frame exactly where they need to be to prevent the bracket from sloping toward or too far away from the house. I also noticed that each bracket, even with all bolts securely tightened, seems to lean slightly to one side. causing the AC on it to lean slightly to one side or the other. This is resolved easily enough by inserting a shim or two between the bracket and the bottom of the ACF on whichever side of the bracket is "slumping." Note also that there is a gap of a couple of inches between the bottom of the bracket and the window frame that you'll have to fill in or seal with something if you don't want horrific energy loss plus bugs, rodents, small birds, etc. joining you on the inside of the house. I think that's just how this style bracket works, though; as the windows in my house are installed flush with the exterior wall, and there's no exterior sill to which I can attach anything, I'm moving forward with this item. ... show more

The bracket is sturdy. Our very heavy window heat pump/a.c. isn't going anywhere. It is a significant upgrade to the jury-rigged wooden support I made when the a.c. was new. The assembly was tedious. It would be better if the instructions had pictures of the various screws and nuts. No matter, I went to a hardware store and bought my own. On the other hand, it looks like someone who was conversant with English wrote the instructions. ... show more

I decided to order this AC support bracket because I did not want to drill into my new window and frame to install the window AC it took me 2 days and a bit of figuring out to complete the install because packaging is missing supplies (14 washers needed but only 6 provided) and the instruction pictures aren't very clear either although the hardware store is 1 block away it took 2 day trips because they closed on me so had to go back the next day. the screws are specialty screws and regular washers will not fit so had to go back to get the whole new set (screws and washers) to complete the install and just a side note if you do not have a handyman suitcase with different tools in it, you ll not be able to secure the screws either as unlike other DIY sellers will provide you with the handy tool in packaging (if you need to use a specialty tool for the screws and not just a regular screwdriver) conclusion if I wasn't gifted the new large window AC id not bother with this costly bracket but returned it after discovering it was not a straight forward few minute install .. ... show more

This review is for the "drill-less 2023" model. I purchased two of these units on 03/18/24 (return window closed 04/18/24). I finally had a chance to install both units on 04/13/2024 and immediately realized a serious design flaw. I contacted Alpine Hardware that same day (04/13) to let them know of the issue and requested to start a refund process. They asked for a picture and I provided one (attached to this review) on 04/14. They told me they'd "forward it to their product team". 4 days go by so I contact them on 04/19 to ask "can we get this refund started?". They replied on 04/20 that they'd process a refund for *1 bracket*. I quickly let them know that I had two units. They told me "for both brackets to be refunded, you may need to send them back to us. You are responsible for shipping though." Too long, didn't read - I requested a refund before the window closed, they offered to refund one out of two units after the return window closed. The main issue with these, and I don't know how everyone doesn't have the same issue, is that the "feet" on the bottom of both my AC units (two different brands and sizes) sit up on top of the bracket. Those feet are supposed to fit down IN TO the window sill. Since the sit up on top of the bracket, his makes the AC units sit at weird angles AND leaves a large gap under the AC unit. None of this is addressed in the product description. No weatherstripping is provided. And nothing mentions any of this in the written instructions or video instructions. ... show more
