abunda_amazon_reviews The MAJOR problem with this nice looking and sturdy support is that the pivoting legs of the support are USELESS. The rubber feet, which are supposed to angle back to the outside wall do nothing more than hang in the wind. The premises is that you get the main supports level and then, angle the lower support arms with the rubber feet towards the outside wall and tighten them down. THE PROBLEM, if you watch STEP 3 in the sales video you will learn that you can tighten the bolts which attach these two pieces together as much as you want, even warping the "short bend sides," and the vertical angled support legs WILL NOT stay at the desired angle. What is missing is a short "locking bar" to hold the angled support in place once you position the rubber feet against the outside wall. The double bracket could easily hold up the weight of a fairly large AC. The design seems pretty well thought out and could work in many different applications where a support bracket it required. That one caveat that I mentioned in the title is that It didn't work out with the type of vinyl siding on our house, so we had to return it. However, I can't really say it's a fault in the design of the bracket. Our house has large, thick vinyl siding panels that imitate the look of wooden shingles. They are very flexible and stick out from the side of the house quite a bit. I'll include a picture below. While I was setting up the support bracket, I mounted it to the window and rested the rubber feet up against the house. When applying some weight, I noticed that the feet were pressing on the siding a great deal, causing it to flex inward. I was afraid that it might crack the siding over time from bearing the weight of the AC. Also, the vinyl siding is very flexible and springy, so the support feet didn't really have any available surface for which to be firmly planted against. When the 10,000 BTU window unit came, I laid it on the bracket, and it worked perfectly. I also had to make a foam piece that went around the bottom of the window to fill the gaps. I used hot glue to hold it together as I cut up the open cell foam to fit the open areas. I never wait for a hurricane to prepare for it. When something does not go as you like during a hurricane, fix it asap, don't wait for the next hurricane and realized that you never did it. I did not need this with a 3000 btu window unit, but 10,000 btu is a lot bigger and heavier, so his bracket had to work.

There has to be a better product out there.
I didn't like this at all. The instructions were seriously 1 single sheet of paper and not very helpful. I would have much preferred a larger box and less assembly required. In the end I could not get the braces to stay in place outside and I just ended up drilling the stupid things onto the wall permanently so it would actually hold my ac.
