It comes with a double piece for the speaker so each speaker really have two pieces of foam. They do help with the vibrations down through the table and it gives off a better sound from the speakers. These are not for no big speakers they are for regular size like home theater speakers but it is a good product

I am not an audiophile, but I do have a small home studio setup for dabbling and recording guitar. I would not have know to even look at these had it not been from numerous forum content about their use in eliminating rattle from the speaking sitting on the desk or workstation surface, and the redirection of sound upward. I cant be entirely sure I am using them as intended, but they work great none-the-less. The pads come in a total of 4 pieces - 2 for each speaker. There are two big pieces with what appears to be a lip on the back of them that the speakers rest against. They are set at an angle that would point the speaker upward. Then there are two smaller pieces that are shaped like stretched angle triangles (actually when you match the small pieces to the larger pieces, they form a flat padded surface which may be the point/purpose). For me, the bigger pieces with the lip are too big for my speakers (Presonus 3.5 studio monitors) and my desk area, so I use the smaller triangular pieces which fit the speakers and the surface area perfectly. Here is the change in the sound that I notice - my speakers have been sitting on a desk pad so I havent really had any vibration noise - with the pads, the lows are really kind of punchy now and a little less bright. I assume this is because the speakers are now free to move (vibrate) on the foam without resistance from the harder surface which really rounds out the bass/low end. I havent noticed much change in the sound based on the tilt of the speakers, but that could just be related to my limited use. This may make a bigger difference based on more expanded use of the speakers and the types of sound running through them. I am glad for the multiple pieces/options, otherwise I would have had to cut down the bigger pieces - but that wouldnt have been bad either. Highly recommend.

The home studio - a labor of love and like a boat is "hole in the water you pour money into" a studio is "s hole in the ...?" something like that.. but cool. I can't think of anything cool right this minute because I've got Weezers' Rivers Cuomo singing the refrain to Perfect Situation playing loudly in the stereo in my brain. On Repeat. But hey, it's way better than the Stranger Things tune (Kate Bush) that has been stuck for days. I could listen to Weezer all day anyway. But anyway, I've got some near-field monitors that probably would have nicely fit on these but that I have shelved in favor of the new larger better (?) near-field monitors, which are too big - the speakers are 6" (at least the woofer parts) not the base of the speaker. I should have put that together. But, they easy to get flat and even though they hang over in each direction, they are still better than the folded carpet that I have been using for years. It's actually better than it sounds - the carpet trick, it's perfectly cut and folded tight weave, but still.. this foam is superior. I could immediately tell a difference. Tighter low end and better separation overall. Such a cheap upgrade to have such a huge impact. I like that these foam pads can be matched and flipped and whatnot to give different angles. Simple, yet powerful idea just like the foam upgrade itself. So, I'm not sure I have a shred of credibility left at this point, but if I do, I recommend these - ideally at the right size! And I recommend not waiting, but doing it right away - it will make a huge difference. Perhaps the cheapest biggest upgrade you can do.

I wanted to isolate a pair of small active monitors that I use for dubbing and editing, as the surface they're sitting on gets some vibrations from the wall it's mounted to. These fit the bill, and they don't break the bank. The foam, as is usually the case with monitor pads, needs a super sharp blade in order to cut through it cleanly... make a test cut in the area of the material that will eventually be waste pieces to get a feel for cutting speed and technique so that you don't end up with tearing or crumbs on your final cut edge. The two-part construction means that the smaller foam piece can be flipped or removed depending on the angle of tilt you're looking for with your monitors... definitely handy if you've got them on a bridge over a console and need to direct them slightly downward towards the operator. These are a light, airy foam designed for decoupling or isolating... they are not a densely absorptive rubber like you'd use for absorption or for controlling self-generated speaker vibrations, so be sure that you're selecting them for your specific needs. Can't beat the price, and now my studio monitors can live on my edit desk/shelf without interference from other other side of the wall!
