These worked great for us. They are along our marching black fence around the pool, so we were able to use the spikes which go deep in the ground with a rubber mallet, then we secured them to the top of the 4 ft fence with the included brackets. I don’t know that I would trust them with just the spikes in the ground but if you have something to secure them to with a secondary point they are very sturdy. ... show more

Just had a chance to install these light poles. Ordered two sets for a total of four light poles. We used these for deck mounting, and did not use all the ground installation forks and supports. The challenge with this kit is the included hardware. Decent poles, but the hardware is another story. We received straps that were not pre-drilled and very short, screws that were way too short to hold the poles up, and a mixture of anchors. Good thing that I had plenty of screws on hand and knew how to correct the deck straps with the right drill bit. Be handy if you order this light pole set! The poles do flex, and they're not the heaviest duty versions on Amazon. We have an excellent set of heavy deck lights (bought on Amazon) designed for outdoor use, and we will see how these poles hold up. I'm not all that enthusiastic about them - but we shall see! ... show more
