Description

The ProTac 2L-X USB (models 88082 and 88083) and ProTac 2L-X (models 88062 and 88063) are 500 lumen Multi-Fuel EDC tactical flashlights. Both the Streamlight ProTac 2L-X and ProTac 2L-X USB can use either a proprietary Streamlight SL-B26 protected Li-Ion USB rechargeable battery pack or two CR123A disposable batteries. The ProTac 2L-X USB (models 88082 and 88083) is a complete rechargeable system that comes with a charge cord and SL-B26-protected Li-Ion USB rechargeable battery pack. The ProTac 2L-X (models 88062 and 88063) is a complete non-rechargeable system that comes with two CR123A batteries. Both the ProTac 2L-X and ProTac 2L-X USB can use either battery type. Both lights feature a tactical tail cap switch for momentary or constant operation, three different user-selectable programs, and a pocket clip for convenience. The aluminum housing with Type II Military Spec anodizing helps make the lights extremely durable and abrasion resistant. Packaged with a removable pocket clip and holster.

I absolutely love this flashlight. I carry it every single day. I've used this so many times and it's also a great backup for defense if you needed it. Shine it on car parts, shine it under the cabinet, double tap the button and blind that assailant coming at you before you knock them out with it. This light is small, bright, water proof, and accepts common 18650 lithium cells(as long as they're button top). None of that stuff is unique, though. There are hundreds of other lights, many of which are significantly cheaper, that can make the same claims. The one thing this streamlight does, that no other manufacturer can claim, is go to dim first and bright second. This should be obvious, but the ability to go straight to the low setting on a very bright light is awesome. I like this light, even though it uses CR123 batteries. AAs are generally cheaper and available everywhere, so I prefer them. BUT, the shelf life is not good, and the voltage is lower, so lower light from a given size package. Actually, this light is better with the CR123s. It's a little bigger in diameter, which makes it easier to grasp in my older, sometimes painful, hands. It's bigger in diameter, but it's still easy to carry. It will fit the holster of a 2AA light I have (this light comes with a holster, I just wanted to try it in my 2AA light holster.), and I can still clip it inside my pants pocket and not be bugged by its presence. This light is bright, very bright, and has a good distance coverage. Great for a large room in my house as well as outdoors. I expect it would incapacitate a bad guy's vision for long enough to assure identity as a bad guy and take appropriate action, which is not necessarily whack him with a bat. The high setting is plenty high for security purposes, but thankfully it has a lower setting that is useful for doing closeup work, like reading a map or finding a dropped object without being blinded by bounce back of the light. The strobe works as a strobe. I'm not sure of using it to subdue a person, but it should help you get found if you were stuck/lost outside and people were searching for you. I EDC a flashlight this size and have carried a couple brands over the years. This is the cheapest flashlight I’ve used so far, and it shows. That being said, I will buy again if I lose this one. It is a great edc light for work and anything really. My only complaints are the C4 LED is a battery killer compared to some other LEDs with similar output. Also, the spread of the light on this is very uneven. Doesn’t bother me but it may bother some people. I’ve dropped this thing and flung it around many time working on aircraft and just day to day. It’s worked without issue. I’ve also had 100 dollar lights start having issues after a 4 foot fall. Streamlights have always been good to me. ... show more
