  • A solid choice and option...
Initial order and receipt was sketchy, generic packaging, previously opened and rummaged then apparently returned repackaged and resold to my. Created a return ticket, did so, got refunded and reordered as recommended by CS. So upon receipt of the 2nd order I find the same generic packaging and happily inside an actual factual legit VIR 2 weapon light. Upon setting up and testing its pretty much everything I wanted and needed. Night vision compatible IR illuminator with reasonable capability and function and an integrated IR laser that runs simultaneously as the illuminator, the only real downside is that's default and not optional. But it works as advertised and more than sufficient for my use/needs and likely yours to. This is a very affordable option to a PEQ module or comparable device with again more then adequate performance for most applications. ... show more

  • Damn near perfect
Super sick light. I wish the white light was a bit brighter but it’s still good for small room flood. The ir light is nice, more flood than throw. I like the surefire x300v’s ir light better, but the ir laser in this light is pretty solid. I like that the ir laser is mounted inside the light and not attached to the bottom so this will fit in most holsters. Also, the ir laser adjustments are recessed so it shouldn’t get messed up from your draw. The switch seems a bit soft and I’m wondering how long it will last- time will tell. Would have given it 5 stars if it had just a bit more power. ... show more

  • Decent IR light/laser, good for the price
My agency has had 17 of these for 2+ years. Initially, we had consistent issues with the screw attachment breaking under recoil. The screw would begin to loosen, allowing the light to wiggle slightly. The light would then jackhammer itself to death until the screw would shear off at the base of the threads. Sometimes this would happen before the end of the first magazine. We were using Sig P226 .40 pistols at the time. The issue went on for well over a year, and most of the guys went back to using their regular TLR1 lights, as they have a beefier screw that doesn't break. Streamlight was very responsive in sending out a box of 30+ sets of replacement parts, but at the time, I would have given this light a 1 star rating. About 4 months ago, we switched to Glock 45 9mm pistols. Since then, there have been zero issues regarding loosening or breaking under recoil. I zeroed the laser at 15 yards and witness marked the screw with a paint pen. I then removed the light, re-attached and lined up the marks, and then confirmed that the zero did not shift. If you follow this procedure for battery replacement, there should be no issues, especially for the type of shooting you most likely will be doing under NODs. The white light is advertised as putting out 300 lumens. In a world of 1000+ lumen pistol lights, this seems rather weak on paper. In practical use, the light is plenty bright for entry work. In a side by side comparison, it appears to be about on par with the 500ish lumens of the new TLR7a. While I agree that there is no such thing as "too many lumens", this light definitely does the job, especially if you're on a budget. The IR illuminator is pretty much a flood light. It provides enough illumination for interior use, but at longer distances outside, would probably be a little lacking. The laser is bright enough to be picked up easily with decent NODs. Under near total darkness while the light is aimed directly at you, you can easily see the red signature put out by the IR floodlight, but that's just the nature of the beast when you're using IR. As long as you're aware of this and train around the issue by splashing the IR light off the floor or ceiling while searching, then you should be good. Overall, I would say that the value is high, considering that other options can cost 2 to 4 times as much. I also like that it fits in the standard TLR1 holsters. Since the problems we had been having seem to be resolved by switching pistols, I purchased two more and have had no problems with the new ones. ... show more

  • Finally got one!!
This works great with NVG for entry and CQB. Love this little light for it's function and how it would fit in stander duty holster.

  • Ideal for pistol use
For the size and money, this is great. The white light is plenty sufficient for pistol use, and the IR is too. It's easy to find holster options as well. I will eventually buy another.

  • How is this getting good reviews?
No real shooter would ever give this thing a good review. This thing does not hold zero at all. Best case scenario you mount it to a rifle rail and you'll see a 4"-6" shift at 50 yards! That's with any amount of pressure on the unit. No, it's not rail flex, it will stay off zero. The mount is horrible and cannot be tightened enough to prevent shift. The mounting screw is tiny. Worst case scenario you'll try to mount this to a polymer framed pistol like a Glock which by nature will have horrible zero shift due to the loose tolerances between the slide and frame. That play renders an astounding 12-20 moa point of aim shift... we measured it. Heaven forbid you're using a holster that applies pressure to the light and it'll be even worse. The IR laser is uselessly inaccurate outside of like 20ft on a polymer framed pistol. Oh but guess what? The laser cannot be turned off in IR mode, so even if you just wanted an illuminator you can't do that. The light head cant be removed even if wanted to just block it off. Stop and think about it... On a handgun with an optic this results in a "two dot" appearance under nods because you have your zero'd red dot and then this wondering streamlight IR dot. The two are difficult to distinguish. So you're guessing which one is your laser versus your red dot. It's probably the worst laser aiming module I've ever tried. Dudes on here saying "it works great on my Glock" are flat lying or not shooting beyond 5 yards. If you could simply turn the laser off I'd give it 3 stars. The white light and IR illuminator are like "good enough", but neither are great. As it sits this is just another sub par low output white/IR illuminator with a civilian class laser that can't hold zero. Definitely not worth $330.00. There are WAY better options at or near that price point. Streamlight makes plenty of decent products but this is probably the most useless item I've ever purchased from them. ... show more

  • This is very fun
I love this thing. I haven’t had to change the battery in over two weeks. (IR laser/light use of course)
