I’ve seen plenty of ads for chain sharpener tools, and when I mentioned them to a friend, he simply said, "Why don't you just buy a new chain?" That advice led me to order this KAKEI 16 Inch Chainsaw Chain—and I'm glad I did! The chain arrived on time and, although it took me a while to figure out the installation process on my Craftsman electric chainsaw (a process I’m sure would have been much quicker with another unit of the same model), the chain itself was a breeze. The challenge was really just understanding how to put everything back together correctly. A bit of background: I received this Craftsman chainsaw from my uncle, who passed it on when he downsized. It served me well for cutting branches after wind storms until one day I was cutting a piece of 4x4 for firewood and accidentally hit a nail. Despite my best efforts, the damage to the chain made even cutting something as soft as an apple impossible. After replacing the damaged chain with the KAKEI chain, my chainsaw is back to its old self—cutting effortlessly and reliably. If you’re considering a replacement, I highly recommend this chain. My 18” EGO chainsaw was at the point where it was unable to cut anything without forcefully pushing it into wood. No amount of sharpening could bring the chain back. I looked around for a replacement chain, and took a chance with this chain because it had good reviews and a good price compared to the expensive OEM replacement. So far it seems to function well and cut pretty smoothly. I'm not sure if this will last very long compared to OEM, but at this price, I'll take the chance. ... show more

I bought this 3 different times. First chain did real good. The 2nd chain didn’t do as well. While using it on my Stijl it jumped off bar. Tried to put back on. It wouldn’t go. Upon inspecting the chain I noticed some of the drive links had actually broken apart (brittle). I asked for return as defective parts. Authorized. Will see what the outcome is on Amazon end. Installed this chain and it is running okay right now. I usually get long usuage from a chain by sharpening several times. ... show more
