  • Awesome, awesome, awesome.
Size: 15 (kW) Style: Tempra Plus
If you want trully unlimited hot water this is the unit. My house is pretty small, 1300 sq ft. 1 1/2 bath, kitchen sink, clothes washer, and dishwasher. I am recovering from a back injury at the time. I just took a 20 min shower to loosen up enough to sit in tub. I could have gotten clean with drain open then showered with drain closed to fill up. But I wanted to see how it did. It was same temp as shower while filling tub. The feature on this unit that reduces volume but not temp works perfectly. My son started his clothes while Mom was in shower. She didn't scream like in past with 40 gal tank. She came out when done and asked why pressure reduced. I hadn't prepped her for it just to see her reaction. I'm sweating while sitting in tub typing this. The instal was easy. Mounted, Plummed, and rewired after electrician messed up. I've been in construction my whole life. But I'd suggest hiring pros if your not atleast self proclaimed jack of trades. Make sure to see electric specs. I had to run an additional line and add a breaker. Waiting to see power bill after a full month. Bottom line is have family on same page while showering, no different than with a tank system. Now consider when not how long you can shower. ... show more

  • Pulls a pretty big amount of electricity but water is hot! Perfect for our vacation home

Works great! Water is hot and perfect for home when you aren't there all the time. Need 40Amp breaker but perfect. Had 2 yrs now

  • Awesome system! Easy install!
Size: 15 (kW) Style: Tempra Plus
No muss… no fuss. I used it to replace an electric 40 gallon water tank that was 16 years old for my 700 ft cottage. Ran two new 10/2 AWG wire lines from the CB panel (two double 30amp circuits needed for 15 model) and rerouted the Plex B pipe. Install was easy for the water heater itself. Just make sure to get the descale plumbing kit and watch you tube on install. Saved 2k doing it myself. Cost total install was around 1100 bucks. Now i can get that drone I always wanted… ... show more

  • It works but wish it had internet connectivity.
Size: 15 (kW) Style: Tempra Plus
It supplies enough hot water for me but I live alone. I don't think it would be adequate for a multi-person household. Running the dual runs of 10/3 NM-B for it wasn't easy. I'm so glad I didn't run 8/3 NM-B as it would have been much difficult and expensive. One thing to note is the case is a clamshell that is hinged on the left. Mine is installed in a 28"D x 23"W tank well that used to house a gas-fired hot water tank on the right hand wall. The LCD screen can only be viewed when looking direct at it, especially if it's lit. It's unreadable if looking at it from above or below. It's much too bright to get captured by an inexpensive usb camera. The lack of connectivity makes tuning problematic. It took over a half dozen attempts before I got it set where I like it. Amusingly, that happened to be at 120. The unit often draws more than 60 amps. I've seen it draw 62 amps. Sometimes one of the two 30 amp breakers trips; always the same one (circuit 1 (left)). But the typical draw for a shower is 52A (12.75kW) --- It's been a year since it was installed. Over that year the Tempra 15 Plus consumed just under 300 kWh averaging around 25 kWh a month for around $2.50. Compare that to nearly $20 for 6 therms of natural gas at nearly $20 per month. ... show more

  • Beautifully designed and built in Germany at a very reasonable price.
Size: 15 (kW) Style: Tempra Plus
Heater replaced an aging 60 gallon gas heater, natural gas prices having gone through the roof since Putin's "special operation" in Ukraine. I was able to install it myself, but given the extensive electrical and plumbing work required, this is NOT a project to undertake unless you know exactly what you're doing and why. Heater requires two separate 240 volt circuits, and operates without a negative. Not shown in the pic is some heavy-duty (4 AWG) copper wire which bonds the hot and cold water pipes together and connects to ground via the service panel -- we have a 200-amp panel, but you may want to consult with an electrician to find out if your service panel is able to handle a tankless electric or will need to be replaced before installing the heater, because even a smaller heater like this one does draw a lot of juice. All in all, very pleased with this heater, which does exactly what Stiebel-Eltron promises. Had to buy the isolation valve assembly (directly under the heater) separately, but these heaters DO require ongoing maintenance, and the purpose of the isolation valves is to enable trouble-free flushing to get rid of scale, which left untreated in even moderately hard water areas will shorten the life of the heater. (Stiebel-Eltron has published a technical services bulletin on descaling.) Before deciding to buy, figure in the fact that if you can't self-install, you're going to have to pay a plumber AND an electrician to do it for you, which probably won't come cheap. Good luck. ... show more

  • Glad I Went Tankless
Size: 15 (kW) Style: Tempra Plus
I heard so many bad things about tankless heaters that I was skeptical it would do its job. Glad I took the leap. This unit works great. We have yet to run out of hot water and we haven’t change how we use our hot water. Easy install for mounting, plumbing, and wiring but does require 2 separate circuits to operate. ... show more

  • Always have hot wayer
Size: 15 (kW) Style: Tempra Plus
We are enjoying the consistent supply of hot water. You need to be sure you have the electric supply for this type of heater. We purchased a smaller unit than we would have if we had a bigger or heavier power line. With that said, we have had all the hot water we need, with no issues. Before this tankless water heater we often had to wait for the tank to catch up or take cold showers. It was not easy to install because of the electric power supply but otherwise it was just water in and water out. The guys said that part was easy. ... show more
