I must admit, Im partial to Steve Madden. This jacket itself is so cute. The fit is true to size but is designed to be wide and oversized. The shoulders fot well but the arms are a little long. There is room for layering, just as a full trench might. There is an inner button that will keep the coat closed from the inside so that when all the buttons are closed it keeps its shape and a clean line structured look. The fabric and lining are both fully polyester. The lining feels smooth, cool and satiny and the shell is smooth and suede like. You can hear the crinkle it makes in a quiet room when you move around. There is a stiffness in the material as well that also helps it keep the structured look. There is a weightiness I like about it as well. The lux lapel gives it a higher end, more modern look and the buttons themselves which look like tortoise shell are so nice too. The buttons on the sleeves are purely decorative as is the ones on the shoulder and the back and it comes with a few replacement ones. It does have 2 smallish pockets in the front that blend in nicely. Im really glad that it has a hook loop, I personally use them a lot and am frustrated when they dont put one in. I also really like and appreciate how versatile and dynamic this jacket is. It can be worn and styled in so many ways, including using it as a top with all the buttons closed. On me the jacket hits about my waist on my 5'4 height. I find it to be comfortable to wear and would enjoy it most during chilly spring/fall days or nights. Typically, it wouldn't be warm enough during really low temps nor high ones. Fortunately, I'm in San Diego and can wear it most of the time and be good. The quality of the materials and construction is good, however, the sewing is not perfect and has loose threads everywhere that will need to be cut but it seems to be durable enough to last a long time. We are told that we can just throw it in the wash and thats fantastic! I noticed that it doesn't really wrinkle much though you will need to iron or steam it at first because it does come packaged in a tight little tootsie roll looking plastic bag. One thing its missing is an inside pocket. Why won't they givem to us?? Would love one for my glasses, cell or cards/cash. I cant believe how reasonable the price is on this jacket, they cant last too long, this is a pretty good value in my opinion. ... show more

I ordered this jacket for spring because I'm curious about the fashion. I've seen several of these jackets recently and wanted to see if I like it on me. Spoiler alert: I do! Steve Madden is a name I have trusted in fashion for years, so I thought I would give his version of this jacket ago. I like it a lot. I ordered my typical size small and the color they call Denim Blue. The jacket fits true to size and is deliberately oversized. It fits correctly across the shoulders and in the arms so it's the style that makes it oversized as opposed to a problem with the sizing. The denim blue is pretty and will go with a lot of clothes that I own. There's plenty of room inside this jacket for layering, but I think it will also look great or even better with fitted t-shirts, etc - so that the jacket itself is part of an outfit and not used for keeping me warm. The fabric of this jacket is very much like an all weather trench coat. It feels expensive. It's fully lined and definitely high quality! I'm definitely interested in buying this jacket in other colors so I must like it a lot! It's very well made and durable enough to last for as long as I'll need it! Steve Madden is a great brand and for the quality of this jacket, I'd have to say that the purchase price is well justified. I’m 5’3” and 135 lbs, and the small fit well. It seems like a pretty decent quality in terms of production (no loose threads, feels like it’ll last a while). The material is very soft, but doesn’t feel waterproof or water-resistant at all. It also isn’t wind-resistant and doesn’t really offer much warmth. If you want a cropped trench that’s on trend, I’d recommend this jacket, but know it’s not going to function as any type of raincoat. ... show more

This Steve Madden Cropped Lapel Trench Coat looks even better in person. The quality immediately stood out to me. The outer material is fairly thick and substantial, and the interior is lined with a smooth, silky-feeling fabric that makes it comfortable to wear. The stitching appears even and well-finished, giving the coat a polished, professional look. It includes tailored side pockets that are somewhat small but still roomy enough to comfortably rest your hands. I also appreciated that it comes with three spare buttons to match the different sizes and colors used on the coat. The fit is true to size. When buttoned, the coat looks nicely tailored. Because it is cropped, there is still plenty of room through the body, so it doesn’t feel restrictive. When worn open, it gives more of an intentionally relaxed, slightly oversized look, which creates two different styling options depending on how you wear it. It is also very comfortable. The fabric weight is on the thicker side, so it seems ideal for spring or fall weather, but it would likely be too warm for summer. Overall, this jacket looks very chic and polished when worn. It has a high-end appearance and gives off a designer-style vibe. Considering the quality, style, and the fact that it is from a well-known brand, I think the price point is very good.
