Like many of you, I did a lot of research before making this purchase. Even though I didn't go with them, you have to thank BTOD for their quality content and even letting me know that this who remastered Leap thing existed. After watching many videos and reading opinions all over the internet, I decided to go with Crandall. BTOD has a lot of reviews saying it takes a while to get the chair, and I didn't want to wait so Crandall it was! Seeing I could buy through them on Amazon, as a Prime member, was even sweeter. After purchasing, it was said I wouldn't get the chair for around 2 weeks but I came in less than one. Now to the chair. It's perfect. I haven't had it long so I can't speak to long term, but I can say that it looks brand new all around and performs amazingly with no problems. Assembly took around 10-15 minutes with everything mostly put together already. The fabric is all brand new, and you can tell the seat looks a bit more substantial than the regular Leaps in the videos due to Crandall replacing the padding. The chair itself is much heavier than it looks and it's obvious immediately that this thing is the real deal compared to the $200 cheap ones I've been using. I'm 5'8 170 with short legs and the chair is able to fit me just fine. Due to the other adjustment options, like the seat sliding, this could definitely accommodate a much larger person as well. My mom thought I was weird for spending most of my old Christmas money on a refurbished Steelcase. I assured her, it has a 12-year warranty. 12 years means that Crandall Office really trusts itself with my spine and butt-cheeks. I reminded my mom that I was getting a degree in computer science. Either I learn to float while spending hours at my desk or get a new chair. Main Review: 1. Assembly: I have sticks for arms. If you have to bring it upstairs, I recommend opening the box and taking up each part one by one. Assembly was easy until sliding the seat into the seat glides. It took more than 20 tries to get it on. Either I'd put it in and the seat glides fall out, or it doesn't click in place. Since I couldn't see where I was sliding into the seat, it was a bunch of finger-crossing and guesswork. Once the seat was in, it was all sunshine and rainbows. 2.) Feel I'm incredibly short (F), 4'11" (150cm). So I have to put the chair and armrests at maximum height in order to align myself with my desk. I have to hop on the chair to get on it. My legs dangle off the floor. I can criss-cross-apple-sauce while sitting. I don't need a headrest. All the benefits/woes of a petite person. Regardless of my "short"comings, this chair is crazy comfortable. I was used to the abuse of my old chair. I forgot that I can sit back and relax while simultaneously typing. I can push back and the chair reclines backward along with me. I don't even know what a lumbar is, but it's being supported. I have had 0 upper back pain since the purchase of this chair.     • Dont understand why anyone would buy new.
Very impressed with the condition of this refurb, everything is basically brand new. We have some new versions of these chairs at our office and these are in way better condition and more comfortable. I do wish they would make the backpad included instead of an additional $30 OR just increase the chair cost across the board and make that the new standard, you can tell the additional padding on the seat makes a huge difference too, the bottoming out feeling you get from a new one isn't exaggerated. Very happy with this and will be recommending people Crandall in the future for anyone looking for a chair. ... show more

    • A great remanufactured chair with very minor differences from the original
Having used leaps at work and purchased leaps directly from steelcase I can say that this is a good version of the leap chair. Overall great value with *actual* refurbishments from a 3rd party office furniture company. * Steelcase ships chair fully assembled and ready to go in a giant box, the Crandall chair ships in a smaller box and requires minor assembly (roughly 10-15min, casters, air cylinder, seat side panels, seat frame, seat bottom - roughly in that order). Except for the air cylinder no tools are required (a hex wrench was included for the air cylinder adjustment). The instructions look chaotic (probably because they fit everything onto a single page). * The fabric is different from my chairs (but also steelcase offers many different fabric options. Still soft. * The extra cushion in the seat is nice, I wish my steelcase had the extra cushion. This is the biggest plus for me over a standard leap. * The armrests are not as soft as the original. These are a bit firmer and have a harder surface. (could be a plus if you're into that). * I can still sit long periods of time in this chair with no back pain. ... show more

I've had this chair for over half a year now and have sat in for many hours every day. It is still in excellent shape and as comfortable as the day I bought it. The cushion has not lost its form and doesn't seem to be suffering any indentation at all, and I cannot see even a single loose thread anywhere on the fabric around the seat or back. Those are the areas I'd expect to see wear the soonest, and there is still none. This chair is widely believed to be one of the best ever, and in my experience I can say it deserves every bit of that acclaim. For this price as well for a refurbished chair that is just as good as a brand new one, you cannot go wrong. This is without a doubt the best purchase I have ever made. ... show more
