I did a lot of research reading articles on all sorts of high quality chairs that fit petite people / women. This chair fits me great and it has a ton of adjustments, more than any other chair pretty much. It's very comfortable and supportive, even when I lose track of time and sit for hours. The chair was refurbished and it looked really great (almost new) except for a mild dirt or stain on the seat fabric. They gave me $20 to have it cleaned. This chair came pre-assembled and while reconditioned, you would never know it. It is in great condition. My one disappointment. This chair was replacing an old Aeron chair. After much research, with the great reviews this chair had, even relative to the Aeron, I chose this chair. But it terms of comfort, I was somewhat disappointed.     • Uncomfortable
The concave seat and backrest gave me lower back and shoulder pain for months. Even my office chair was more comfortable and it was flatter. I bought a regular chair with a cushioned seat instead and it hasn't given me any problems. Don't buy anything "ergonomic."

    • no padding in seat
While the seat is very adjustable there is no padding at all in the seat. Becomes very uncomfortable when seated for long periods of time, to the point of a pinched nerve in my backside. If you need to sit for extended periods of time, you will need to purchase a seat cushion.

The refurbished chair is in great shape and perfect working order. So comfortable for long periods at a desk - a great improvement over what I was sitting in. Glad to have found this chair at a reasonable price. Chair arrived with stains on the seat and the cushion is absolutely flattened. The chair itself is good, but it really just seemed like they took a chair that had been in an office for 7 years and sold it as refurbished

I purchased this chair for my place of business and it the 2nd one that I have owned. I have one in my home office and it is over 20yrs old and still going strong. Steelcase makes the best office furniture in my opinion and this chair has never disappointed. Plus it was like a brand new chair for almost half the price. Having short legs with a bad back, it's the perfect size for me, though I still tuck my feet underneath the seat to straighten my back. I still use an external lumbar support, but my needs are a bit extreme. The seat however is a bit hard, so I also have a thin gel cushion, and all is good.
