This one seems to work well, and would works on our antique door jambs/latches, even if it did require drilling a couple of holes. The media could not be loaded. Nice inclusion of spare screw and bumpers. Quality packaging and clear instructions—but installation and use is so easy I didn’t need them. The parts are well finished and look nice. Check the 1.5-5.5” opening dimensions are suitable for your use case. Some uncommonly hefty cats might find the maximum a bit of a squeeze. Also consider whether it will intrude unacceptably into the natural path one would follow after passing through the door as the product sticks past the doorframe into the room 7-8”. Depending on whether one needs to turn immediately after entering, that might be a cause for complaints. Overall, it functions as claimed! It’s what I needed to hold the door to where we keep the litterbox both open and closed a cat sized amount, and we can still fully open/close the door easily *enough* when needed. Seems fairly sturdy for the use it’s intended. I was able to bend it a smidge to better couple with the our door without worrying I would break anything. The “door protector” sticker doesn’t stick excessively, but it seems adequate and is a nice touch. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Works great for keeping the door cracked open for my cat while keeping dogs from moving freely. If you view my video, you will see the damage that it's done to my door. This is by far a better alternative to similar products that stick to the wall, as those have ripped the plaster off my wall in the past. I have also used a similar product at the door latch level made of plastic, and that did not hold up to the regular wear and tear of having 2 dogs. ... show more

I love these! I have them on the doors leading to my laundry room where the litter box is kept. My cats can get in and out but the dogs can't. These were easy to understand how to use.

We have had cats and dogs for many years and have tried various methods to keep doors open just enough for the cat, while preventing the dogs from getting through. Now that we have a toddler, finding a solution that holds the door open but doesn’t allow it to be accidentally closed is truly a lifesaver. We started by using this solution on one door, but we are gradually adding it to others. Since we work from home and have raised puppies over the years, it’s important for us to confine them with us while still allowing the cat to come and go freely. Having gates all over the house has been inconvenient. This solution is perfect because the doors can still close completely if we want them to, and our toddlers can’t accidentally shut the doors on themselves or the animals. I wanna give it once star but I don’t want to hurt the shop with something that could be user error. I’m sure this is error on my part but the product just didn’t make sense, don’t understand how you’re supposed to be able to open the door all the way once it’s attached properly, also didn’t seem to fit with my door, don’t under stand how, the product didn’t come bent but the door would just open past it and not stop it. ... show more

It's... Ok. It does what it says and that's good. We did have to bend it to make it work though but that wasn't a huge deal. The issue is that it sticks way out so it's very easy to walk into. We keep it high to keep the toddler out of the basement and we've smacked our faces on it more than once. I imagine keeping it lower would have similar issues. I liked the design of a different one better but it was plastic and broke immediately. So it's great that this one is metal. I'm just meh about it. Could work great for you though if you're ok with walking into it on occasion. ... show more
