I use this to support a Behringer X2222 mixer for quick set up shows; it's perfect, and stores flat, unlike most small tables of this sort that take more space. It's easy to assemble, sturdy enough for up to about 20 pounds, looks attractive, and is very functional. Five stars!

    • Great for supporting flip-in windows
This is a bit outside the intended use of this product. I ordered the "taller" stand option hoping that it would be useful to support flip-in house windows. I found it to be absolutely perfect for this purpose. It's steady and solidly built. I could rotate the top of the stand. It was tall enough to support every window in my house (double hung sash) -- where both the lower and upper sash would be on the stand during the cleaning. I could raise and lower it to best fit the height of the window I was cleaning. It was an absolute great purchase. I did lay a towel across the top of the stand to protect the window mullions from the small ridges around the edge of the top of the stand. This item is highly recommended for window cleaning. I bought this stand for photography to tether my camera and laptop with the light room. My HP laptop is slightly over 6 pounds and exactly 16" wide by 11" deep. So, the tray is wide enough for the laptop plus a mouse, which I like. I also like the stand, sturdy and strong, made of steel and very simple to put together. The stand and tray, when assembled, easy to pick and move. If I can install wheels, it would be even easier to handle. Here are few things that I am concerned about: - First all the dimensions mentioned on Amazon page are not correct. The maximum height, when measured carefully comes to about 45.75" and not 50" plus inches. - The tray is 19.5" x 15.5", instead of 20" x 16". - The dimensions do not cause me no problem because the stand suits my needs. But this info is incorrect. The tray is made of thin plastic, it is flimsy and only 1/16" thick. I included a picture of the stand with the laptop on it. If you see carefully, you may be able to see that both front corners bend down with the weight. And this concerns me. In spite of all that I have decided to keep the stand because it is cheap in price. Hope it will help. ... show more

    • Great as a laptop stand
This was exactly what I needed for a laptop stand to use at customer sites. I work as a controls engineer and frequently have need of a laptop stand or table when working on customer's equipment. Most of the time there are no tables or anything to prop a laptop on near the machine. I work with a Dell 17" precision laptop that's a serious workout to try holding while working. I purchased this model specifically after measuring my laptop and found the plate was large enough to fit. Many others were too small. It's slightly bulky to transport around a plant, but the inconvenience is more than made up by the functionality this provides. No more trying to prop on a knee or on top of a greasy toolbox and bending over in uncomfortable positions. The height adjustment allows me to set it just right. The tray is larger enough to hold my power supply as well so I can keep my things off the floor. I've been using it for two weeks and have traveled to several manufacturing plants with it. Durability over the long term remains to be seen, but for now this has been a great purchase for a laptop stand. ... show more

Had I known the top was plastic, I probably would have passed. The body is solid. Not sure why the top is not aluminum.

    • Strong, Light Weight, Good Product
This product met my needs, because it is sturdy, light weight and overall it is a good product (it does not feel cheap). The top is made of plastic, but it is strong enough for basic use.
