  • Nearly Perfect
Color: Black Style: PLAYSYNC Video & Audio
Would give a 4.5 tbh. The sound is stellar in gaming. Whether Xbox, PS5 or PC it delivers. The have a rich sound with a wide soundscape which I prefer. The comfort level is a big selling point for me. The earpads are soft and light. No issue with clamping and can wear for a long gaming session without discomfort. I have used other higher end gaming headphones (like the Arctis Nova Pro), and these are more comfortable to me. I also think the A50X have a bit better sound quality than the Arctis Nova Pro. (I understand that is a personal preference as the Nova Pro's are excellent as well) I love the platform switching and it is done right on the headphones. Very easy. The mic is really good. Very clear and not as thin sounding as others I have tried. Overall, I really love these headphones. I would give them a 4.5 out of 5. I wish the software was a little better and I would like to have more customization options like programmable lighting. Other than that, I have a hard time not recommending these as your go to-all around-use on every platform you have headphones. Love them! ... show more

  • HDMI switch functionality made useless to save a buck.
Color: Black Style: PLAYSYNC Video & Audio
I have owned them for a few days and I am genuinely sad about this, it seemed so perfect, the sound is great, I need a switch for my HDMI inputs, but who in their right mind decides to make a product into a multi HDMI switch and just decides not to put one in the PC slot. I wish I wasn't so upset about this, but this is my ideal headphone setup if someone didn't try to save $3 on production by removing a jack on a $300-$350 headset. If this headset was $100 I would just install it in the xbox jacks and use it as a 2 way switch, but no way am I tolerating this on a $300 setup. "ok but why not just plug in your monitor to your PC separately? that seems like what they want you to do" well because of two things. first, what if you do not have multiple HDMI in on your monitor, as many high end gaming monitors do. Second, if you do have multiple HDMI jacks using multiple of them at a time has issues. Your computer behaves as if it is connected to HDMI making what would have been on the monitor be off the side of the screen. You may need to shut down your computer depending on the tolerance of your monitor for "stealing" the selected input. YOU CANNOT LISTEN TO YOUR COMPUTER WHILE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES, this one would have been an issue either way, but the way that it works now it just ARBITRARILY shuts off your computers audio in spite of it not even being fully connected. Be better Logitech, I used to love you as a company and suggest you to my friends and clients, now I can no longer suggest your products to anybody because between this and the power play 2(see the end for the explanation) and all the other products you have been making worse to save infinitesimal amounts of money, I just do not trust you any more! To address the power play situation, they released a mousepad that wirelessly charges your mouse, then took it off production and made another one that is WORSE IN EVERY WAY FOR THE SAME MSRP, check the prices, at time of writing powerplay 2 is $120, powerplay 1 is above $300 in spite of originally being $120 because nobody who knows what they are talking about wants the 2 and scalpers have a monopoly. Again, I am not talking as a hater, I just feel burned and sad because a company I used to like is falling fast. To address amazon's points, lightspeed has a decent connection range but does not go through walls, it is pretty plug and play, if you can run g hub it will make your life easy, I never got to use the mic, I charged it first and it dropped one dot (goes on a 4 dot power system) in about an hour, so 4 hour battery life? not sure. ... show more

  • Great sound quality, very comfortable, zero connectivity issues.
Color: Black Style: PLAYSYNC Video & Audio
I had originally gone with the Audeze Maxwell 2 after my Astro A40 failed after years of use, and while the Maxwell 2 had amazing build quality and 70+ hours of battery life, I found the sound quality disappointing and the headset uncomfortable. I expected better out of the box performance and comfortability from an audiophile-focused brand like Audeze. The Astro A50X is so much lighter and more comfortable to wear for long periods, as well as just sounding better right out of the box. I will say the build quality could be better, the pad at the top is attached with some fairly flimsy looking plastic snap-points, but at least it's lightweight. I just feel like if I were to twist it a tad too much it would break, so I always handle it with both hands. The charging stand is a nice plus as well, as it lets me see how much charge I have left at a glance without opening the Logitech app, and acts as a wireless dongle so I don't have to use finicky Bluetooth. Assuming it holds up over the next few years, I'd definitely recommend this headset. ... show more

  • A dang good headset
Color: Black Style: PLAYSYNC Video & Audio
Bought these a while back when they were on sale and just had to time to really test them out and I am in love with them. I got them for a steal and I couldn't be happier with them. Setting them up for all your gaming needs takes seconds and I don't have any connectivity issues at all. I bounce back and forth with them all day and they perform great. Battery is a little small it seems since they seems to die a little too fast for my liking. Doesn't mean I would give them up and trade them for another pair. Logitech is a great product manufacture and they all big in the gaming world. If you have the chance to buy them on sale, don't wait, just buy. You'll thank me. ... show more

  • Almost Perfect
Color: Black Style: PLAYSYNC Video & Audio
As good as they say, ordered these because many mention the quality between microphone and speakers were actually balanced pretty well, Normally its one or the other, good mic or good sound, very rarely both, in fact as far as I know there is only one other at this price range to have both good sound and mic quality. That said, these are a bit pricey, so you'll be spending more then the average no matter what, but the sound quality is great and my mic sounds as good or better I've been told then my desk mic, these keep up with most entry level studio headphones, maybe even some mid level studio grade headphones, The connection is pretty good too, I've had no issues, all and all these are great and worth the money, That all said, there are cons, for me, just one, I have to adjust the first at least once a week, and adjusting requires you to take off the headset, and if your eyes are not perfect you'll have to look closely at the barely visible lines/numbers to get each side to match, really needs a way to lock them to the size you want, these don't feel like they are locked in, in anyway, but friction keeping them where they are, these also did come pretty tight on my head but has sense stretched to fit comfortably. ... show more

  • Top Tier, but Expensive and Uncomfortable
Color: Black Style: PLAYSYNC Video & Audio
I’ve had a positive experience with the Astro A50 X headset overall, though there are some notable PROS and CONS. PROS: High-Quality Sound The HDMI audio connection to the base station delivers exceptional sound quality, with the added benefit of wireless convenience. This setup allows for seamless syncing with 4K 120Hz, HDR, VRR, and ALLM settings enabled, making it ideal for high-performance gaming. Convenient Charging Dock One of the standout features is the simple charging method via docking, a design choice that adds convenience and efficiency. I wish more brands implemented such a straightforward solution. LG C3 OLED Compatibility I use the headset with an LG C3 42" OLED TV for console gaming, and it resolves a common issue I’ve encountered with the Xbox Series X. Normally, when I turn on the console, I’m prompted to set up the Xbox with passthrough, but with this base station, that message is bypassed. I can simply pick up the headset, and the Xbox turns on—no interruptions. Effortless Device Switching Another great feature is the ability to switch between Xbox Series X and PC for audio, video, and microphone use with a single button press. This eliminates the need for changing cables and feels like having a KVM switch with additional functionality, making it highly efficient for multi-device setups. Superior Microphone Quality The microphone quality is exceptional. I consistently receive feedback from friends that my voice is clearer and more distinct, even from those who are usually quick to critique. Advanced Customizable Sound Settings The EQ settings, coupled with the ability to share sound profiles globally, offer an impressive degree of customization that significantly enhances the overall user experience. Whether you're adjusting for deep bass in action games, clearer dialogue in movies, or more balanced audio for music, the fine-tuning options allow you to tailor the sound precisely to your personal preferences and specific use cases. This level of control ensures that the audio experience can be as immersive or nuanced as you need, adapting to any scenario with ease. Dolby Atmos License While I didn’t take full advantage of it, the headset comes with a Dolby Atmos license, which is a valuable addition for immersive audio experiences. Wireless Connectivity The freedom of wireless functionality is a significant plus, allowing for an uncluttered gaming experience. Minimalist Design The sleek, black design fits seamlessly into my setup, maintaining a clean and cohesive aesthetic. CONS: Price Point While the Astro A50 X excels in many areas, it is undeniably overpriced. I purchased mine "used, like new" on Amazon at a discount, but the retail price of nearly $400 is steep. This headset would be more appropriately priced in the $200 range, given its features. No Included HDMI Cables Given the price point, it’s surprising that HDMI cables are not included. This oversight seems particularly glaring for a premium product. Uncomfortable Fit Comfort is where the headset falls short. The earmuffs and headband are awkwardly designed and made from materials that feel scratchy and unsupportive. It’s like wearing a loose sweater on your head, which is disappointing for a high-end device. I had to invest an additional $40 in leatherette earmuffs and a headband for added comfort, as well as a boom for the microphone to reduce wind noise. Inconsistent Audio Wheel The audio wheel lacks precision, offering only 21 levels of adjustment. The fact that the middle point is at 52% seems arbitrary and frustrating for users who prefer more granular control. Unfortunately, this can’t be corrected in the application either. Lack of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) The absence of ANC is a missed opportunity. When listening to music or watching movies, I would prefer not to hear background noise like my fan or other ambient sounds. While the lack of ANC might not be a dealbreaker, it would have been a welcome addition for a fully immersive experience. In summary, despite its drawbacks, I’m satisfied with my Astro A50 X purchase. The PROS significantly outweigh the CONS, especially if you prioritize performance and convenience in both console and PC gaming. However, given the price, I’d only recommend it to users who are looking for a premium, multi-device solution and are willing to overlook some comfort issues. Bought these as an upgrade from the gen 3 A50s I had for almost 5 years and these are amazing. Pretty much the same headset all around just a bit more “punchy” sounding bass and less of it where the gen 3’s were pretty much all bass. Haven’t tried the app yet but out of the box these are ready to go. I’m hearing footsteps from places I really shouldn’t. Way too clear. Best part is you can hook it up to Xbox, ps5, and pc simultaneously. Definitely a pricey unit compared to others but it’s worth every penny. Highly recommend. ... show more
