When I got the candle, I immediately opened to smell it. The fragrance is exactly what you think. It smells like a fresh, newly bloomed bouquet of lilies. The smell is very realistic, but without the sneezing. After a while, bloomed lilies have a staleness to them. This candle captures that first fully bloomed scent. I honestly don't have any complaints against the candle per se. It arrived quickly and very well packaged. Right out the packaging I didn't like the smell. I consider myself an expert when it comes to how stargazer lilies smell. I grow them in the summer and out of season buy them at the florist for the past 25 years. This is my favorite flowers, so I am very familiar with the distinct smell and this isn't it or any where close to it! I should have return, but for some odd reason I thought maybe the smell would change when burning and I don't know why, because it didn't but that same smell only stronger. The candle is long burning and burns evenly actually every thing I want in a candle except that smell. Needless to say I am very disappointed because it is on the pricey side. I purchased after reading the reviews although the reviews were for other fragrances than what I purchased. I also purchased the wax melts in the same fragrance still the same strong smell. I blame myself, knowing that I am very particular about fragrances and from past experiences I should always smell any type of fragrances before I buy. I'm highly disappointed and now afraid to try any of the other candles unless I can smell first. ... show more
