DIRECTIONS: Spray product along the waterline, treating a small area at a time. Let application soak in for at least 30 seconds. Using a fine scrub pad, wash mitt, or a STAR BRITE Magic Sponge (included), wipe the treated area to remove stains, then rinse off. STAR BRITE Home Pool Waterline Cleaner can also be used for the entire pool before it is filled up with water again. NOTE. This formula is designed for scum lines, dirt, oils, and black streaks. Calcium and hard water deposits will require a different product that is acid based. CAUTION: EYE AND SKIN IRRITANT. Contains: Tetrasodium EDTA and Dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether. Take precautions to avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact with skin occurs, wash well with soap and water. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse with fresh water for 15 minutes. This is not a calcium deposit remover for the tiles. For calcium build-up, use an acid product. But this waterline cleaner worked very well on the scum line. It also disolved the iguana poop stains from my marble patio pavers on my pool deck (usually I need a bleach cleaner). I used nearly the entire bottle before noon cleaning random things besides my pool and it genuinely worked on everything I tried. The scum on the old pool ledge chairs, my ceramic and resin planters, plastic "wicker" furniture, the Rubbermaid plastic garden shed, the black stripes on my white aluminum gutters that nothing else removes, and even the soap scum ring in the bathtub. ... show more

I had some pool pillows that needed cleaning so I got this hoping that it would do a good job cleaning stains. While it did do an effective job cleaning the surface using a scub brush, this solution does not deep clean into the pores of plastic. This product did not remove my stains. I saw no difference in performance than using a spray bottle cleaner such as 409 or Fantastic which are much cheaper. After I got this, in reading the label, I am concerned about knowing the chemical makeup of the cleaner ingredients and allowing them in my pool water. Yes, at a dilution rate of 20,000 gallons of pool water to a bottle of this may be okay, I just question the safety of the ingredients to eyes and skin when used in a pool. I will just scrub my liner with a bristle brush since there is no real description of what the ingredients are. ... show more

    • Works well, but requires scrubbing
This product cleans well, but it is not as simple as spray on, wait, and wipe/rinse. I used it on our pool tile and it required heavy scrubbing with a brush and multiple applications.

    • It’s a safe cleaner
I like that I can use it without worry of imbalance in my pool, but I will need to scrub a few more times to get the line to go away. I saw improvement after first use. I scrubbed with a sterlings sponge (recommended by pool owner group on Facebook). My water is balanced, I have a water softener, my filter is new and clean, and I use a stain and scale prevention additive, so I’m assuming the scum is caused by oils, dirt, or sunscreen. Once I get it good and clean with this product, I will look into a wax/protectant for fiberglass. ... show more

We have owned our pool for 3 years and between sunscreen, weather and dirt we started to notice a buildup of scum on the top portions of our fiberglass pool. I can say after buying a handheld pool brush and spraying this and letting it sit for a few moments we are much cleaner than we were and looking good.     • Great cleaner
I tried bleach, commet with bleach, and mr eraser and was not taking the dirt and oil off liner. Sprayed this cleaner on waited 30 sec and wiped right off.
