Shipping box was sufficient. Lots of people complaining about minor damage from shipping but this thing is super heavy duty. Not sure what they expect. The box isn’t stronger than heavy stainless steel metal, so minor dings may occur. Mine arrived with no damage. Well packed. It fit perfectly on my Blackstone. No more rust! No more fighting with cast iron. Worth every penny! ... show more

    • I love it, and i hate it. Now its more love than hate.
I live in the PNW and there was no way to win the war on rust and flaky seasoning with the blackstone original top. Had it two years, and had to use the angle grinder and re-season twice. I kept it covered too and i use it year round because thats how we roll up here. Therefore stainless steel is the winner for our climate. That said, the grease trap system on this is absolutely terrible. If you so much as look at that little drip ramp wrong, it falls inside the grill. You have to lift the grill top to put it back. Not a fun experience while cooking. This grill top curls in at the edges under heat, meaning no longer flat, meaning lots of frustrations. Other than that, its stainless and it gets the job done, and will likely last at least as long as the blackstone itself. I recommend the Scotch-Brite 701 cleaning solution with their scour pads, squeegee and grill stones. This is not the every day cleaning method, but it will get the surface good as new when you want a good deep clean. You need to get an IR thermometer that can adjust emissivity for stainless steel or you will never get an accurate temp. I ended up with a temp probe that sits on the surface. Would i buy again? Not if there was a better option, but i dont see one. Update: I've had this top for 2 years now. Updating from 3 to 4 stars. The drain system is my only gripe. I took a Dremel and cut some notches in it so that a treager grease bucket can hang on it. This helps keep the drip thing in place and contains the drippings better. I recently took the blackstone with this top to a church function where i cooked burgers and dogs for 2 hours straight. every couple rounds, i just put some water on the top and steam/scrubbed the top clean. ... show more

Such a great concept to replace a cast iron blackstone griddle, with such a poor execution. I don't get why you wouldn't emulate the exact specs for the original Blackstone, especially the grease hole. But instead, they put it off to the far right where you have to try to rig something up that doesn't dribble grease down the back of it. Lastly, just put two holes so you can use the exact same lid as well. Then the actual grease ramp doesn't fit the hole.     • Much easier to cook on than the original cast iron
Cooking on a stainless griddle is a much better experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for me. No worries about rust or having to re-season every year. Takes a bit longer to heat up and may not get as exactly as hot as the cast iron, but definitely does the job. Burgers & Hibachi have turned out better than on the cast iron top and I don't have to worry about putting oil on the surface before storage. It seems like the packaging has been improved since the earlier complaints about it arriving broken. No snaps or cracks or bad welds that I've seen so far. ... show more
