So far, so good. I received this rower as a Christmas gift. I have used rowing machines at several local gyms. I am not particularly fit, but I wanted a machine to use at home that would replicate my experience at the gym. This machine does the trick for me. It is lower to the ground than more commercial machines and it does not have any kind of adjustable tension to make your workout more/less strenuous. It does, however simulate rowing action very well. The only noise from the machine is the sound from the flywheel turning as you row, so it sounds like a box fan. The rowing handle is padded and the seat has an adequate cushion as well. It does fold up so you can store it in a closet. My husband and I assembled it in under an hour. The directions are clear and all the parts were clearly marked and included in the package. Also included was a card explaining how to extend the warranty. I would recommend this machine for the average person who wants to exercise at home and get a full-body workout. ... show more

I'm 57 and needed to change up my exercise routine. With degeneration of spine and particularly the lumbar and worn out knees, I just can't run anymore. As far as weightlifting, I have to be really careful. I have an old stair master which I still use - great for cardio and the legs, but doesn't do anything for the upper body. And that's the part of me that's weakening. Anyway, checked out rowing as an option for low impact but excellent cardio, core, lower and upper body workout. I read a lot or reviews on various machines and the ones with resistance fans like this one seem to give the most bang for the buck. I just didn't want to spend $1,000 or more, not certain how much I'd use the machine. Went for the middle of the road and this one got great reviews for the features and quality it provides. Positive: Excellent packaging. Very easy to read assembly instructions. All of the tools, bolts, pins, etc. are provided and plastic wrapped over a sheet of cardboard that very clearly marks each part. There is no question to what part the instructions refer. I'd give it a 10, if I could for packaging and instructions. Assembly time for me was about 45 mins, including removing the parts from the box, reviewing the materials, and assembly. Actual assembly was about 30 mins tops. Quality: I have not owned other rowing machines to compare with this one, but everything is solid, nicely balanced. The seat glides smoothly and quietly. The foot pedals are comfortable and have large Velcro straps to secure you feet. The fan mechanism appears well balanced. The simple display provides easy to read numbers that show time, calories burned, and distance - basic, but I'm mostly going for time and distance. Rowing mechanism: instead of a chain, there is a strap. It makes no noise and extends and retracts smoothly. The handle has a comfortable grip. The harder you pull, the more resistance. You can start out slowly to warm up and then increase speed with your legs, back, and arm. Easy fold up and storage: I'm leaving mine out, but if you need to move it, just pull out two pins and the beam that connects the rowing unit to the seat lifts up. You can then roll the machine around. Negatives: really, these are just minor issues, at least for me. The fan is "loud" - so, not a metallic loud or screaming loud - just a fan that gets louder as you pull harder. I close my kids bedroom doors, when I'm working out in the early AM to not wake them up. You can still listen to music with your head phones and its not high pitched. No adjustments: I guess some of the higher priced machines have resistance adjustments. For the expert rower, this may be a needed feature. At my level, not required. The resistance increases as you pull harder. Display is basic: obviously, the company is the company is focusing on the machine's quality and just provides a basic time, calories burned, and distance display. No Bluetooth and apps to down load. I knew this going into it reading the reviews. Minor issue for me. I'm really enjoying the machine and the price point fit my budget and skill. I've owned this for about a month and imagine that I should get five or so years out of it. Just got off now. Its really working my abs, back, and arms. Recommend watching some videos on correct form to avoid injury and to get the most out of rowing. ... show more

My wife and I will both use this every day. It has variable resistence which allows each of us to have the workout that fits our needs. We don't plan to fold the unit for storage so that feature isn't important to us. I think it would be hard to fold the unit because the pins that lock to pieces together are difficult to disengage. ... show more

I'm no typical owner. I actually use my exercise equipment. I will say that with this machine I found rowing to be an excellent exercise for me. After using it f 2-3 times per week for ten months, the retraction spring went out, making the machine useless. The warranty on these rowers is short, and I shouldn't expect longevity at this price point. UPDATE: I found out that working directly with Stamina to get a replacement part was taking excessively long, but working directly with the seller got nearly instant results. I wound up with a free spring box, so I can save my part money and put it toward an upgraded machine later. When the cover was removed, I saw how simple this device really is, and was able to replace the spring box in about half an hour. ... show more

I have never exercised, hate doing it and feel pain anytime I'd try. Having realized that after Medicare one must try to keep the body moving I tried Stamina's Inmotion rower and found rowing not painful and actually pleasant. After a few months the small rower seemed limiting, so I got this one and just love it. It just works, you row and adjust your effort by increasing the speed of pulling back. It feels solid, well balanced and comfortable. Tried a competitors' machine for over twice the price and it did not feel as stable or smooth. I most highly recommend this for everyone who wants to have one machine that addresses your whole body, it's aerobic as well as weight bearing. Don't trust its clock, though, It reads anywhere from 36:47 to 38:31 minutes for my AppleWathch's 40:00. Customer service was excellent, they sent me a replacement, but it's the same. I suspect some interference from the rowing rythm on the timer. ... show more

We bought the rowing machine a while ago. We took some time to open and assemble as we had just moved. After unboxing we noticed that one of the paddles were missing. We reached out to the company but have not heard back (this was a while ago). Because having just one paddle was hiring our legs because they were not aligned while rowing we decided to remove the other paddle. It improved rowing since the legs were at same highs but there is no support on your shoes which makes rowing a little more difficult. The machine is good I can’t say it’s great because we never had all the pets to properly row. I do think that the range of motion isn’t that great when compared to some others but good enough for home exercises. The seat can be uncomfortable if you want to row for a long period of time which is a huge down side. It was extremely easy to assembleias the low rating on assembly is due to the missing part. Noise level is ok. Nowadays I am not sure that I would buy the same machine due to a lack of customer service. We have reached out thru Amazon and using their direct email and yet no one ever responded. ... show more

This is my second unit. I bought the first one for my office and then another one for my Wife. Very well built and worth the money. Very good workout. Easy or hard workout is based on how hard you pull. There are no adjustments. The unit does fold when not in use and you can move it out of the way. The foot pedals can spin around when you do this. I would modify the design and add a second bar to keep them in place. This is very minor observation. The original used current generated from rowing to power the LED display. The new one uses a small battery. The impeller does make noise when you are rowing and you do need to turn up the volume on the TV or radio. Not at all irritating. About 10-15 minutes to assemble. All tools included and you can't put it together wrong although I would have color coded the instructions or added keying or arrows to the body to assure proper orientation of the parts. I bought this machine to get a good cardio workout--I have MS, and it's difficult for me to walk or run. This is a great replacement. Having said that, it is difficult to get up from the machine because it's so close to the floor. I have to use a nearby plastic tub to get myself up. Just want anyone that has difficulty getting up from the floor to think about that when making a decision to purchase this. ... show more
