This incubator works, but we had issues with our first hatch. The first 18 days went off without a hitch, then it was time for "lockdown". The egg turning device was removed as instructed. One of the eggs hatched a little earlier than expected, about 24 hours into lockdown (when you are supposed to leave hatched chicks in the incubator and not supposed to open it because it affects the humidity level). The new chick rearranged every egg in there since there was nothing to keep the eggs in place. This is a problem as the eggs were to remain still so the chicks within them could position themselves for hatching. Out of 12 eggs, the first two hatched normally and into healthy chicks. A third one was healthy but had splayed legs. I had to rescue two others that were stuck in their shells backwards (head at narrow end of shell), both of those are alive, but have issues. The remaining eggs failed to hatch, even though the chicks within were fully formed and appeared to be without defect. 2 perfect chicks out of 12 is NOT a good ratio! I recommend looking at other incubators prior to purchasing this one, especially if you are hatching for the first time.

I used this to hatch some of my own chicks, it holds 15 medium chicken eggs. It has little slats that you put in between the rows of eggs, they are adjustable which is good, as you need the eggs to be free to roll. I put in 15 eggs and candled them as I went along. I would say it holds a constant temperature, the only thing is it is very very hard to keep your humidity at the right temperature, that being said I did manage to hatch only 4 chicks, but that is only due to the others not being fertilized, guess I need to fire my rooster... lol, just kidding.

I am on my 2nd batch of eggs now. The 1st batch did wonderful. I was skeptical at 1st as the instructions were a bit odd, but seems to be doing great. We should have some more Littles in about 2 weeks!!

My husband accidently threw away the styrofoam that came with the set and my eggs didn't hatch. I like the incubator but I want to hatch my eggs .Do I need the styerofoam top for my eggs to hatch?

While the size and the amount of eggs the machine holds is accurate. I does NOT display the humidity you can set the humidity alarm but it does not display it for you to know what the humidity level is at all times. Disappointed!

Easy to assemble but not easy to use. When adding water it's hard to tell how much water you are putting into the trays due to the grid. The temperature alarm goes off before you are done so I have to unplug the machine and plug back in.

For a small incubator, it works great. I put 12 eggs in this incubator to hatch and we had 12 eggs to hatch and they were all hands best incubator ever.
