Bought this as a security camera. Works great. I purchase rechargeable battery pack separately (about $70 at Walmart - had to have it quick). Battery pack seems to hold a charge very well. Have not hooked up solar panel but have a friend who has and that works well as well for him. Have had other pics shared with me by those using it for game and it works great for them. I have it set on medium sensitivity and pic medium quality. Medium setting on the image is not the best in low-light human recognition so I'll probably notch it up to high. Depending on how you want to use it, location will be key. Lot's of things can trip it. Things blowing in the wind for instance. And, dogs, cats, raccoons, etc. There are multiple plans for the number of pics. I'm currently using the $10/month plan which gives me 1,000 pics. Typically that's going to be more than enough for my current use/location. You can get unlimited for $15/mo. Can also do video but have never tried that. You can turn the camera off and on (on the camera, not remote) while on site. So, if like me, you are using it for security you can turn it off when not needed. Quality seems great. Tough hard case. My location is somewhat protected from weather. You can receive pics on your phone w/o needing an internet hookup. Great buy in my view. I may get another for greater coverage.

We are thoroughly impressed with this camera. We use it for security at our front gate on our rural property. Cellular service is unreliable in our area, but the antenna provides 90% cellular strength, and pictures are sent to our phones within 3 minutes. The camera has a quick wake-up time, and the pictures are clear enough to identify animals, people, and vehicles. The app is user-friendly. The 100 free photos is a bonus. Based on the activity, we joined the Insiders Club for an annual payment of $100 to get 250 pictures a month. We plan to buy a second camera for our lower property!

Great for places you don't visit often. Solar panel has a built in battery, so it's basically a set-it-and-forget-it combo. Get a 32GB microSD card and you won't have to touch it for months on end. Great for scouting or security.

Initially bought the Flex S. The solar panel couldn’t keep up with the battery. I tried a couple battery brands and solar orientations but I was still changing 8AA weekly. Image quality was great. Returned. I bought the Flex M for the larger solar panel. Jury still out in battery life for the quality sucks. Serious white balance issues. Dark photos during the day, camera accentuating reds and oranges. Nighttime infrared is good but overall the cameras just kinda providing consistency. I’ll be looking to see what Reolink offers. I’ve had several for home and they’re flawless.

This is my second spypoint camera. Having the ability to use regular batteries is nice but it would have been nicer if it came with the lithium rechargeable batteries I bought later. I have not used the solar panel on this unit yet but will be deploying it in a remote area very soon.

Ordered 2 of these with solar panels for some off grid housing that had gotten broken into. Need 32 gig SD cards max, the 512 didn't work although it said it was compatible. Just ordered the spypoint 32 gig to make sure they were compatible. Got the ones with the solar panels and so far it's keeping the battery life constant. Each camera takes 8 aa batteries. You can also use rechargeable but I just am trying the regular ones to start. Cats keep setting off the front camera so I had to buy the subscription which was unlimited for 12 a month if you but the year all at once so 120. You can change the sensitivity I have it set at low. Night pictures come out clear which is cool. Overall I would recommend these cameras if you need to put them somewhere that doesn't have wifi. They don't look like cameras which is cool.

We’re very happy with this setup. We have it at our mountain property and have the unlimited picture plan. We get pictures of critters and we have it set to send a picture every day at 10:00 am so we can see what the weather is doing The solar package works great and the battery status is always full.
