The worse battery life if you use outside & hiden, not possible to plug in with super short wiring power cable. The battery only last less than 2.5 hrs. And impossible to view the video on phone when you away from home. So definitely unable for surveillance use!

I’m extremely impressed with the SpyTec device. The setup was incredibly easy, the tracking is accurate and reliable, and the gethapn.com platform makes everything simple and clear to manage. The battery life is excellent and lasts far longer than I expected. A special thank-you to Luisa for her outstanding support during the installation — truly exceptional service. Although the monthly service is not cheap (I paid $34.99 for one month), it is absolutely worth it for the quality, performance, and peace of mind. Highly recommended.

This is a pretty cool little GPS tracker for the price! I'm impressed at the details it provides when active. It's a small smooth device about 2" tall that you can slip into anything really, and comes with its own special charger When I received it I had to download the Hapn app and then pay a subscription price to start using it. They had different options a 1 month, 3 month, 1 year and 3 year plan. I wasn't sure how I would like it so I opted for the one month plan for $29.95. The subscriptions go as low as $14.95 a month for a 3 year plan but here's the problem I have with those plans. Money is tight for a lot of people and at $14.95 a month, well that's a great price, but you have to pay the whole 3 years up front. There is no options to make any kind of payments throughout the 3 years and the up front fee for 3 years is $583.20, or $275.40 for 1 year. I just don't have money like that just sitting around to put out all at once so I hope they figure something out there because that would most likely be a problem for me to continue to use this device. So, I downloaded the app, paid for my 1 month, charged it a little even though it came already charged and sent it out for a test run. My brother was going to run errands so I slipped it in the truck before he left. I was really surprised at the information it provided. It would show on the map where and what road the truck was on at any given moment and whether it stopped on the road for a second or longer than that at a store. It would provide the address and length of the stop . You could watch live or view the trip and destinations later on the history section in trip or timeline. You can also set up a geo fencing where if the tracker goes out of the predefined boundaries it will alert you . That's great to keep your eyes on the kids whereabouts. It also says it has a 34 day battery life so I'll be checking on that as the days go by. So, this is a great little tracker and I recommend it but personally I'm not happy with the subscription prices, but that's up to you!

I'm really disappointed with this device. I have not had good luck with it at all. I need a GPS device for my special needs child because he is nonverbal and tries to leave safe places alone. It's just good to have for emergencies. However, when he is at school it shows him several blocks away in a neighborhood. So if he were to leave school undetected I would not even be alerted and even if I were I wouldn't know where to find him because it's just not accurate. If this is for something less valuable than a child it might be okay but for runners like my kiddo I need pinpoint accuracy in real time and I'm disappointed that this device didn't do the trick. One thing that I do like is the style of map on the app that goes with it. It's incredibly detailed and I was excited about using it. I also like to that it was small and fit very easily in a pocket. The charger is a little different because most trackers are charged with USB c chords these days. This one is a magnetic charger situation. Even though it is a pain to have a specialized charger it means that there aren't big holes in the device so it's less likely to get damaged if it gets wet.

I have a problem with electronics I buy online. Sometimes, despite your best efforts, you can't get a thing to work. I thought I had it working but I had reason to use the device installed in my guitar case and it did not work. No helping. I know a lot of people who use AirTags and similar devices but if you are trying them out for the first time get them from your provider so you have someone to talk to face-to-face when it goes sideways.

Tracker only comes with magnetic charging cable- QR code links to the user manual and to activate the tracker are on the box. The tracker doesn’t have any of the SpyTec branding shown in the ad- instead the face of the tracker is a shiny black plastic that is very susceptible to micro scratches and scuffs easily. The tracker itself is smaller than I expected- about 1.3” long, 1.2” wide, and 0.75” deep. The tracker has no means of attachment- doesn’t have a hole for a lanyard and no adhesive pads are included. Due to the magnetic charger, the tracker is slightly magnetic, only on the charging port end, and not reliable enough to attach it to anything. Battery life varies quite a bit depending on the reporting setting, but overall battery life was surprisingly decent. ‘Performance’ pings every minute when the tracker is moving and every 3 hours when stopped. ‘Normal’ pings every 10 min when moving and every 12 hours when stopped. ‘Power Saving’ updates at customizable (1, 3, 6, 12, or 24 hrs) fixed intervals regardless of motion. ‘Extreme Power Saving’ puts the tracker into sleep mode and only wakes once a day to ping, then goes back into sleep mode. The tracker is pretty accurate- generally within 30’. The app offers a lot of various customization. The tracker has a single multi-use button, used to power on/off the tracker and to send an SOS (holding the button for about 4-5s until the green light goes off)- when sending an SOS, for some reason I almost always get two notifications for a single SOS. After about a month, what I believe to be the battery came loose inside the tracker and occasionally rattles around- sometimes it sticks back down, but it always comes back up and rattles around. But, the tracker otherwise functions normally.

This is a very nice GPS tracker for almost anything you want to keep track of. The reason for four stars is because there is no trial to see how you like it. Only paid plans and I stopped using paid trials along time ago. The quality seems to be of good quality. The functionality is unknown due to paid subscription and no trial. The durability seems it will last a good while. The material are plastic and electrical. Install time took less than 30 minutes. I did install it, just incase there is a trial in the future. Security level unknown as im not familiar with the company yet. All in all. If you don't mind a paid subscription, they have 3 packages at time of review, this tracking unit would be a great on to consider. If in the future, a trial becomes available, I'll update description with more accurate information.
