  • Fast and easy to use
Size: Medium
Works very well and easy to use. I have used it on two different cars and I works great. It is very durable and works very well. Great value for the money. I wish I had this years ago. It is much faster and easier than using a c-clamp.

  • Works well once you get the hang of it
Size: Medium
It seems well made and sturdy and does the job very well ONCE you figure out how to get the ratcheting mechanism working. It takes pressure on the tools pads in order to easily ratchet. I know it's a brand new tool and going to be stiff for a little while, but this one felt too stiff. I finally got a small screwdriver to hold the gear wheel in place while I swung the arm to tighten or loosen it as I needed it. Once there was some pressure against the old brake pads, it was great. That's why I gave it 4-stars. ... show more

  • Awesome little tool
Size: Medium
Just changed front and back pads on my Ram 1500. I love this tool. No more using a C- clamp. It is a little hard to get it to ratchet until you figure out how to use it, but once you do, it makes life so much easier. I struggled with how to hold it and get it just right to go in the caliper with enough tension on it to make it ratchet. I ended up leaving the bottom bolt in and tilting the caliper back and using both caliper hangers to hold the caliper. That allowed me to use both hands to hold the tool and get the perfect width for the caliper. Then I was able to just ratchet the piston open. Very easy to ratchet it, so be careful not to go too quickly. Love this tool, and wish I had bought it sooner. ... show more

  • Nice idea, but useless for some cars with smaller calipers
Size: Medium
I loved the idea of moving away from the shade-tree c-clamp approach to compressing the piston when changing brakes. In theory, this is a great and elegant solution. However, you need to be aware that the minimum width necessary for it to work is too small for many vehicles. In short, it really isn't "UNIVERSAL," a fact that is only acknowledged in the fine print where it states that "it works for most cars and trucks." So, my 2014 Honda CRV EX-L FWD is one car that it definitely does not work with. The Brake Caliper Press would only fit into the space if the piston was already fully depressed. ... in other words, it only works if you don't need it. I'm sure that it functions as intended for other, larger vehicles. However, I would hope that the seller would mention the minimum width requirement (1.55") up in the description and not scrolling down several pages. ... show more

  • Used it for all 4 calipers on my RAM, and it's solid
Size: Medium
First time doing brakes, did rotors and pads, and had this handy. The hooks are slim enough to hook onto the calipers easily, and "various" parts of the frame, but stout enough I was not worried at all with even the heavy front double piston calipers hanging, and the actual spreader part handled the double pistons in one "use". IE I could cover like 95% of BOTH pistons at one time, so I didn't have to "alternate", and it pressed them ALL the way back, so I could cram the front brakes back in. It does stick a little at both min and max spread, and the ratchet "locked" on me once, but that ended up being user error. IE I bumped it. It could be better with a shorter "ratchet angle" (IE the distance between 2 clicks), but I even used it at one point to help me break a nut free, and it barely shows anything on the powder coat. ... show more

  • Broke after first use
Size: Medium
I was initially really impressed with this press tool—it worked flawlessly on the first brake caliper, making the job smooth and easy. However, after using it on the second caliper, one of the bolts became cross-threaded, which caused the tool to become unusable. It’s a shame, because it worked great for the first caliper, but after that, it was essentially rendered useless. Definitely a quality control issue, and I’m disappointed that it didn’t hold up for multiple uses. The Hangers on the other hand are amazing, they are sturdy and actually hold the caliper away from the rotor, cant complain about them ... show more
