  • If you do any work on brakes you know exactly why you need this kit
Size: Bubble Flare
I finally got tired of trying to find brakelines with the right size fittings in the right length and bought a bubble flare kit. It saved so much time replacing brake lines on my 1st gen Dodge Durango. There were several lines that had different size fittings on each end of the line that not of the local part stores don't carry in stock and can't/won't order and the solution they offered me was to use the lines they had in stock(all double flare line) with adapters to get the fitting sizes right on both ends of the lines. I was able to buy a coil of brake line all the fittings I needed and this flare kit for less than it would have cost to buy their lines and adapters. The tool works. Simple as that it just works. I drive in the snowbelt so I only used Nickel-Copper alloy lines which are softer than stainless or PVF coated steel but I'm fairly certain it would work just as well with other line types. I watched a few videos online explaining the steps and after only one failed attempt all my flares came out just fine. Saved me a ton of time already and if I replace a few more brake lines it will pay for itself. ... show more

  • Brake line double flare tool
Size: Double Flare
Decent set although when you make the first flare there is no way to center the die so that it comes out in the middle. The die tens to cock a bit. This didn't pose a problem for me though. These double flares are a smash together one time connection for the most part anyway. I also discovered that if I only use the die and don't double flare it, it creates a bubble flare. I ended up using this when on my 95 Grand Cherokee it used a double flare on one end of the line and a bubble flare at the Hydraulic Control Unit for the ABS. Never would have suspected that there would have been 2 different flares on the same line. Anyway, for the amount of brake flare work I do, I'm sure this tool will do the job. It just will take a lot of effort to keep the flares centered. ... show more

  • Extremely disappointed. Don't waste your money
Size: Double Flare
Extremely disappointed. Don't waste your money. Tool scores the brake line while trying to flare. Also could not insert 1/4 inch nipple for flare after cutting tubing with tube cutting tool. Had to insert drill bit to ream inside of tubing.
