  • Good tool
Style: Rear Disc
This does what it is supposed to do. I have several tools from this brand, and have been happy with them. This is no exception. It's great for a DIYer--affordable and holds up for occasional use.

  • If you do any work on brakes you know exactly why you need this kit
Style: 6 Piece
I finally got tired of trying to find brakelines with the right size fittings in the right length and bought a bubble flare kit. It saved so much time replacing brake lines on my 1st gen Dodge Durango. There were several lines that had different size fittings on each end of the line that not of the local part stores don't carry in stock and can't/won't order and the solution they offered me was to use the lines they had in stock(all double flare line) with adapters to get the fitting sizes right on both ends of the lines. I was able to buy a coil of brake line all the fittings I needed and this flare kit for less than it would have cost to buy their lines and adapters. The tool works. Simple as that it just works. I drive in the snowbelt so I only used Nickel-Copper alloy lines which are softer than stainless or PVF coated steel but I'm fairly certain it would work just as well with other line types. I watched a few videos online explaining the steps and after only one failed attempt all my flares came out just fine. Saved me a ton of time already and if I replace a few more brake lines it will pay for itself. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money or time. This tool will cost you both
Style: 9 Piece
This tool isn't even worth the one star I'm forced to give it. I bought it with the intention of flaring two lines. That's it. Just two. One 5/16" and the other 3/8". I was attempting to flare the 5/16" as it's out of the vehicle and easier to manipulate. To begin, the clamp will not lock the tube into place. It slips every single time you try to put any kind of pressure on the end. I tried every trick I could think of the get it to grip but it simply won't. Then, about the 12th time I'm about to release the clamp to reset my tube, one of the lock nuts shears off. I know for a fact I didn't over tighten it. It's simply filled and sheared. I can't image trying to use this piece of junk under the vehicle where my 3/8" line is at. My advice - walk away. If you need a flare tool, pick up a better one. This cheap piece of crap isn't even worth the effort of seeing if it will work for one flare. A fact I wish someone had told me. ... show more
