Excellent buy, was worried that it would leak, and not work properly. We are going out of town, and have nobody to water my yard and garden. This is a blessing.. I have hooked up my hose for the yard, and a drip system for my garden. Been watching it for a week now before we go, to make sure their are no problems.. and I am very satisfied with my purchase. The left channel worked twice (i.e. enabled the hose to turn on, then off again twice) before its solenoid stopped working. I can still hear it try to engage, but basically, the left channel isn't working at all, manual or auto. The right channel is still fine and works as expected, but I need both channels to work. This has only been outside trying to "do its job" for a week or so. Bad deal. On a totally separate note, the UI on this thing is kind of terrible compared to the competition, if you're not careful it's a bit confusing. But that would be forgivable if it worked—which it doesn't.

Okay so this is your cheaper alternative to some of the larger brands that are in this space, which I have those as well. The first thing when I unpacked this item is it feels a little lighter and a lot less durable. That's fine if you are just going to set and forget, but if it is in an area where you may also be potentially using the hose for other things -- or your KIDS will be playing with it -- it makes me worry that this won't last nearly as long or survive their rough handling. However, so far, so good. It really works fine and is pretty easy to set. We have no real problems with it and it is functioning just like the others and pretty accurate (as far as we can tell). So I really don't think of this as anything less than a 5-star review for this product since mine hasn't failed and i'm just speculating. It is slightly cheaper than the big brands too, so if you need multiples of these around your house, this is probably a viable way to go. Well done with this product

Since we are just entering the time of year when I need to supplement our garden's water needs, the things I cannot comment on are the timer's battery life and long-term reliability. After adding the required two double 'A' batteries, I found it easy to program without looking at the included instructions. By turning the large knob, all adjustable settings can be seen, then changed with the +- buttons. We use private well water so the included grit filter on the supply fitting is a nice addition. The broad water pressure compatibilty allows you to use it for both full pressure garden hoses as well as drip lines. I am currently using the timer for drip irrigation so I added a pressure reducer to the water supply side as well as 1/2" drip line adapters to both outlets of the timer. My photo shows them installed. They are NOT included with the timer, but what I had all fit well with no leaks. A small roll of teflon tape for the hose threads is included, if needed. The unit appears well made and reasonably waterproof considering how easy it is to change batteries without tools. The first time opening the battery compartment was not easy as the gasket was quite snug. After that, it is no problem and with a great fit. I am still going to cover the timer for protection from the elements. As long as it lasts at least one season, it will be a great addition to our gardening.

I purchased this watering timer for my front yard. I have several flower beds that I have hooked up drip hoses to. This timer allows me to adjust the time needed for each side to ensure everything is watered appropriately. It was very easy to install and there have been no leaks at all from any of the openings. You have to option to close off both sides if you want to. The timer took a few minutes to set up and program but it works so well. My favorite thing about this is the ability to override the program and use it manually with the timer! I can add in my sprinkler and set the manual timer and forget about it without having to worry about overwatering. It has been so helpful as we head into summer.
