Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover is so good that people talk about it! It is easy to use, just spray and blot. No scrubbing or vacuuming required. Spot Shot removes old and new stains and both oil-based and water-based stains. Our proprietary formula liquefies tough stain particles, allowing them to be lifted out of carpeting without rubbing, scrubbing or vacuuming. Directions: 1. Thoroughly blot or vacuum the affected area. 2. Shake can for 2-3 seconds, tilt at 60 degree angle and spray stain. 3. Blot treated stain with an absorbent cloth (preferably white). 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is gone. 5. Swab area with a damp cloth to remove any residue that might be left behind

Rating this a five as it lives up to its claims removes spots with ease even some stains that we've had for a while in the carpet. After purchasing this product I noticed they offered a professional grade by the same name. I got that and found that the chemical smell with the professional grade was very potent in the home and lasted for several days.     • Great to have on hand for stains! Almost like the stain didn't happen. Successfully used on clothing.
I discovered this at Sam's Club several years ago. I was a new home owner and bought some just to have on hand. Maybe a month after we had brand new carpet installed, a large box of greasy hot wings was flipped off of a table onto my carpet. There was a huge puddle of grease and wing sauce all over the carpet. I did my best with paper towels and a dish soap mix, but it wasn't coming out. Then I remembered I had the Spot Shot. I grabbed a can and went at it. WOW! It was easily removing the remaining sauce and grease stain from the carpet. It's kind of hard to describe watching it. The stain almost appears to evaporate while the cleaner is bubbling on the carpet. I was sold. Since then, it's cleaned up some BLACK lube oil that leaked out my washing machine motor when I was repairing it, a Bic black ink pen that got stepped on, printer toner, animal messes, and everything else we've needed it for. Like others have said, it's great on old stains as well. We found a stain under our entertainment center that hadn't moved for years. I don't know how it got there, or what it was, but Spot Shot removed it with little effort. It uses A LOT of liquid for big stains, and we always soak up the excess chemical with a paper towel or rag afterwards to speed up the drying time. There is an unmistakable chemical odor, but it's not too bad. I have allergies and asthma and it doesn't bother me. It has never discolored the carpet, or any of the random rags we've used when cleaning up the excess. I've even shot spots on my work clothes when I've come in contact with some substance. I had been ill for months and was so weak. I had no one to help, so did my housework very little by very little. I had spilled on the 8 ft carpet that ran along the kitchen cabinets and knew that I had to clean it, but little strength to do much, so finally decided that I'd clean 1 foot per day; getting it done in 8 days was better than looking at those stains. I gathered my supplies & a short stool to sit on. When I sprayed the Hot Shot on the stains, they actually disappeared!!! I was so startled & probably had a dumb look on my face, but was so pleased that it was so easy. it didn't end up taking 8 days to get it all cleaned. Other stains have taken some elbow grease, but gets the job done. I have recommend it often to people in my circle, now to you, too. ... show more

I just used this on my new carpet. I could not believe how well it removed the stain. I have used a lot of spot cleaners and it usually takes several sprays and wipes to remove the stains. Today with one spray and wipe the stain was gone. Easy to use, just shake and spray. I used a dry towel to remove the excess spray and that was it. I highly recommend this Spot Shot. ... show more
