I’ve been using this spiral coil binding machine for a while, and overall, it’s pretty convenient to use. The electric coil inserter is especially helpful because it saves me from having to manually twist the coil through the pages. Once the paper size and margin settings are adjusted, the machine is fairly straightforward to operate. It works with Letter, A4, and A5 paper sizes, so it’s useful for organizing documents, making booklets, or handling other small binding projects at home or in the office. One thing to keep in mind is the 15-sheet punching capacity. That rating is based on standard 20 lb copy paper, so if you’re working with thicker or heavier paper, it’s better to punch fewer sheets at a time. The stiffness of the paper also makes a difference. I found that trying to punch thicker or harder paper in larger stacks can make the machine work harder, so it’s worth adjusting the number of sheets based on the type of paper you’re using. The electric coil inserter is probably my favorite feature. It makes the binding process faster and easier, especially when working on multiple documents. It also comes with 100 black 5/16-inch coils and a coil crimper, which is convenient to have right out of the box. Overall, it’s a practical machine with a good set of features. This spiral coil binding machine has been a great addition to my workspace. I have wanted a spiral coil machine to bind watercolor drawings into books for gifts. When I saw LumoShine Store’s Spiral Coil Machine 4:1 Pitch I ordered it. Mostly it is a manual machine that punches holes in a set pattern. It can punch through 15 sheets of 20-pound paper at a time. An alignment guide, with a captured nut below the apparatus, is adjustable. The main adjustments are for standard sized paper formats; A5, A4, and letter size. The adjustment allows many stacks of paper to have the same hole alignment. With water color paper I adjusted setting so apparatus did not clip a paper's edge. Where holes will be punched are indicated on the base. Another alignment guide adjusts the margin which is helpful when adding binding. Alignment guide moves a hidden platen changing paper placement. The machine is electric too! Amazing what they can do nowadays. Electricity spins a rubber roller speeding up the spiral coil insertion. A good number of standard coils come with this machine. 2" coils are not included.
