Thing works great for 8.5 x 11 inch US paper too, you just got to adjust it to 19 holes (letter size, not A4/A5) and then trim the extra part of the black comb binding with a pair of scissors. These 3/8" comb bindings that come with it supposedly fit 40-60 sheets of paper. There is good margin on top, bottom, and sides of pages after punching the holes. Bought this little machine to create some booklets, and it was a great choice. It’s very easy to use, and it didn’t take me long at all to create 30+ booklets.

    • This not going to do everything you expect
This is worth the cost. The average comb binding at a store will set you back $4-$5, so you break even between 10 and 12. That's the good part. This will punch 12 sheets of standard copier paper. If you use 28# quality paper, do four sheets at a time. Amazon recommends clear plastic front covers and black block covers, but they will not work unless you're ready to do a lot to get there. (Amazon really should TEST the combinations they recommend first!) The vinyl back covers will punch one-at-a-time AND you must put a sheet of paper on top, otherwise, it will be jammed in there because the square chads from the cuts have not fully separated. The clear acetate front covers are just a nightmare. No tricks here: put 1-2 sheets of paper on top and punch. BEFORE you release the handle, turn the machine upside down and you'll see the chads still firmly attached on the back side, where you can run a razor blade along the teeth to cut them off. So, unless you're doing uncovered documents, minus one star; the maker doesn't tell you this, so minus another star. Amazon doesn't test products before recommending you buy them together, but that's Amazon. They look at $$$, not at their reputation. ... show more

    • Don't use too much paper or you will regret it!
Works exactly like it says.. It punches paper. If you use too much paper you can jam it up and make it effectively useless. Spent over an hour disassembling/reassembling it to clean it out to use it again.
