Description

Spectre air intake systems are designed to increase horsepower and torque in your vehicle, while also working to protect your engine from harmful contaminants and debris. Each air intake system comes with a washable, reusable, low-restriction Spectre air filter, a polished aluminum intake tube, and a black powder-coated heat shield. Installed on a 2015 JKU with no problems. The instructions aren't bad but some of the pictures are hard to discern the minor details. It is basically a knock-off of the MOPAR CAI for half the price with a much larger air filter. Watch the YouTube video of the MOPAR install if you need help. The sensor is tricky to remove and the video will show you the trick to tilt it back to get it over the catch. As per the video, I tired to install the sensor in the grommet before inserting it in the tube but it was tough so I inserted the grommet and used a little dish soap to provide lubrication and got the sensor inserted and aligned properly per the video. The rest of the install was pretty straightforward and looks great. It provided a noticeable difference in initial pick up and it roars at 3000 rpm. I have the Air Raid CAI in my 2004 TJ and this system is much more noticeable in power and sound. It comes pre-oiled and all the parts were there. I love the stainless pipe and size of the filter. Highly recommended for any JK owner. Make this one of your first upgrades and you wont be disappointed. ... show more

    • Great Looking Performance Air Intake Kit
Installed this Air Intake Kit on my Jeep JK 2015 and it added nothing but positive +++ look to the Engine Compartment. Kit was very simple to install and added a boost of performance to the engine output. Sounds GREAT! I'm extremely happy with this kit and especially with the purchase price $$$.

    • Would I buy again?
I usually do not write reviews but, I wanted to help others with their buying decision if they are in the market for this type of product. On one hand this kit is very aggressively priced compared to named brand kits and I thought the quality was fine/good. On the other hand there is a problem with the design, as others have mentioned the filter WILL NOT stay on without some help. I checked everything and reinstalled the filter three times before putting a screw in it … problem solved. Otherwise it is performing very well (increased throttle response, nice aggressive sound (yet no too loud) and 2+ mpg increase). To answer the question would I buy again, I say yes. Ordered yesterday and installed tonight on my 2015 Jeep JKUR. Wish I had done this way back. Easy install that fits perfectly. Throaty new sound is fantastic! Still need to try out the higher rpm highway performance. Update after some road trips: I still really like this product. Higher rpms show good results where I can stay in a higher gear getting to highway speeds. My only knock is that you really need to crank on the large clamp to keep the filter from falling loose. At first I thought it might be a defect but holds on after really tightening. ... show more

    • Amazing customer support!!!
First, I would like to say that I am extremely happy with this product, and the amazing customer support that I have received! I did have a couple issues with this product at first, but they more than took care of the problem and I will explain, Upon receiving my package, I noticed the box was a little bit damaged, but the product didn't seem to be OK and I was missing the little O-ring for the air temperature sensor which I called them and they promptly sent me out a couple of them free of charge, So after a few weeks of having this installed, I realize there was an issue with the actual filter, staying on the plastic mounting piece that comes with and it's held on by actual hose clamps not something like an exhaust clamp.... However, it kept falling off and then I noticed the black plastic piece had a crease in it, where I, somehow, or other gained the strength of the hulk and was able to tighten a hose clamp BY hand enough NOT to strip the clamp as sneezing next to any hose clamp would strip them... but instead, my hulk strength was able to crush the plastic piece the filter is mounted to. 0.0 so at that point I called them to let them know I was unhappy and wanted this mounting piece replaced, and to my surprise, THEY SEND A WHOLE NEW REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE PRODUCT! wow! just wow! I had never expected such great customer service which is hard to find these days. I simply cannot thank Spectre performance enough for the outstanding customer service! Also the new replacement has ZERO issues. even though the filter has slipped off a few times at first, it seems to be doing great now. maybe that plastic piece needs to have a wider clamping area? but thank you again for the amazing customer service and wonderful products we all have come to know over the years! ... show more

Absolute garbage. Filter will not stay on no matter what you do to it. Metal box is cut wrong and wont allow filter to sit flush against the box. Even without the box, the filter still falls off. Horrible product.

Pros - Install was a breeze, looks nice. Cons - No added sound. My friends more expensive one sounds amazing on his jeep. No added gas mileage that I have noticed.

Instructions made sense. Very easy to install. I also added a throttle body spacer. My gas mileage did get better, i dont have numbers just by my normal week i can see the differance.
