This fast-drying formula has no fumes and leaves no stains, so you can use with confidence indoors. Plus, it dries up to 30% faster than Ortho® formulas. Use this indoor bug spray whenever you see evidence of insect activity or anytime as a preventative barrier to keep bugs out. Hold sprayer 12 inches from the surface and apply in a 4-inch band for indoor applications or a 12-inch band for outdoor perimeter applications, spraying until the surface is slightly wet but not soaking. Repeat outdoor applications of Ortho® Home Defense Max® Insect Barrier every 3 months for best results. People and pets may enter treated areas once sprays have dried. I have a large one floor home and one medium haired German shepherd, a Wife that doesn't notice or see smaller bugs, and my 72 year old mother with Alzheimer and dementia. Even though I leave the dog to my wife to care for, being it's her dog, I felt something land on my arm in my office looked down and thought it was a tiny gnat that had landed on my arm, so i slapped it,.. and it merely jumped off my arm like it was leaping off a diving board into my carpet. I then ask my wife did she treat Fiona, her dog, this summer and she said no she forgot, then she said, "oh I haven't seen any bugs",.. whoooaaatt. So I ordered the Ortho and some flea and larvae powder for the carpets and got to work, and to my surprise I had underestimated the problem. I couldn't imagine how the dog was handling these irritating critters without complaint, when Fiona was let out to do her business, I went into her room and sprayed around the base boards and where she sleeps and when i went back into the kitchen and looked down at my socks, I saw two or three fleas on my socks, I flick those off and it seemed like the spray had caused them to become very active, omg I went into the laundry room and took a breather and look down and there were about 4 more on my socks and joggers, went outside from there and the back steps, where Fiona scratches to go in and out, and found 3 more.. but outside they began to not come back onto my clothing, so I started spraying the outer perimeter of the house and hesitated on going back in. I guess fleas die faster than other bugs, maybe because of their small size, but, in the kitchen, where I was violently attacked, I checked my socks and,.. hummm, not one flea. Went into the 2nd bath and laundry room which is the route the dog uses the most and went into my office again and, my white socks where free of fleas,.. this was all within the first hour of spraying, I bought three treatments for Fiona and hopefully, even if my mother and wife aren't aware of the urgency and violent attack, I was subjected to, at least me and Fiona can sleep a little safer. I don't know how long it will last but so far I'm satisfied... Im sure there are stragglers and I will have to be vigilant to make sure that our home stays, our home. ... show more

Treated my carpet with this a few days ago after a flea gave my cat worms. I havent seen a single flea since. Also a great barrier for creepy crawlers.
