My former espresso maker sputtered and gave out its last spurts of flavor, so I started hunting for an under $100 machine. I read reviews here and elsewhere. I watched videos. I read online threads policed by coffee snobs and tempered by coffee drinkers. I was strongly considering a different Spacekey machine, when this one popped up. I read the few reviews. I read all the product information, and when the price dipped to below $100 with tax, I pressed “buy”. The features that initially persuaded me were: the 39 oz reservoir, the ability to dispense just hot water, the stainless steel build (not just stainless appearing plastic), the 20 bars of pressure, the gauge, and the overall size. None of these were disappointments once I received this machine. Unboxing was easy (too easy, it shipped in an unsealed manufacturer’s box - not even taped shut, that partially came open in shipping), set up was very quick. I followed the instructions and did a few rounds of just hot water. Then it was time for the christening shot. The filter has a nifty feature I have not experienced before: a small notch that allows you to lock it in place when you insert it into the portafilter. No more knocking the filter into the trash! The portafilter was easily locked into place. It has a longer handle than any portafilter I have used in the past. I do not find it an issue. The machine is not heavy, so I do have to steady it as I attach and remove the portafilter. But, I also have the machine sitting on a silicone mat with raised nubs, so that may be affecting things. Either way, it’s not an issue. It’s physics: higher center of gravity - a trade off for the narrow footprint. The machine quickly warms up and is ready for use. For a double shot (my preference), hold the 2 cup icon button until the machine beeps. It’s far quieter than my last machine. And the espresso? Far smoother. The “bitter bite” I didn’t know my former machine was creating is gone. I now have the best espresso I have ever made at home (and I have been using budget friendly espresso makers for 40 years or so) with a creamy, decadent crema. It is so delicious (current mass market bean: Mayorga Organics Cubano whole bean)!

I would give this machine a full 5 stars for its compactness, appealing design, range of features, and functionality. My wife loves the latte's it creates and I love the espressos and use the dedicated Americano button every morning. It's very well thought out and a perfect fit for our daily needs. We've dialed in the coffee beans and the whole barista process and have been enjoying outstanding coffee ever since. Probably the best we've ever had. Until today. My morning routine starts with an Americano first thing and that part of the machine worked perfectly this morning, as it has since day one. The problem showed up when my wife woke up and asked me to make her a latte which, of course, required steam for frothing. The valve that turns to the right for steam release immediately began to malfunction. There was very little steam pressure built up and even with the valve wide open, there was not enough stream to froth or even warm the milk. Even worse, when closing the valve to the left, the little steam there was just kept coming. None of this was user error because I'm quite familiar with how it works by now. I am posting this to establish the record for our experience and the readers' benefit. We really love the little machine and would hope to own it for a long time. It's a perfect fit for all our needs. But now, we've turned it over to the seller to see how it's handled from here on. I will provide updates, assuming I hear back from them after having just submitted an email to their customer service this afternoon. UPDATE: Heard back from company within hours of my request for assistance. Very polite letter with suggestions to try several fixes. Turned out that the steam tube for frothing lattes has a very tiny outlet hole which had apparently become partially plugged, probably after using to froth milk and not letting it get a thorough enough steam rinse after the last use. We also learned that the tip unscrews for cleaning, which we didn't know before...must have missed it when parsing the instructions when we first got it. So, machine is now back to fully functional, good as new. Hopefully this will help someone else to see this is a very good seller who stands behind their products as well as getting back to our full 5 star rating for the product. Still loving this machine and will update again if anything else arises.

I like the build quality and it is very value of the price and what you got. The size is not too small or not too big it is perfect. The machine is easy to use and clean. The brew speed is fast and the weight of the machine is not too too heavy. Overall I like it and I am able to practice my latte art too in the morning .

I absolutely am in love with this espresso machine! Very reliable for any morning, rushed or not!!! It brews a single or double shot in no time! Has a glass heater on the top of the machine as well as a milk frothing wand. Super compact for a sleek appearance. Tank holds a lot of water with no leaks. I’m very happy with this purchase without a doubt one of my favorite things now and I no longer brew a pot of coffee in the mornings!
