This ASNUG Space Heater is exactly what I needed. We live in a 100+ year old landmarked brownstone in Manhattan. They build these buildings to last but there are noticeable shortcomings. The buildings built back then were not well insulated so they're hard to keep cool in the summers and hard to keep warm in the winters. Besides the double hung wood frame windows are not particularly effective blocking the wind and the cold. So we use our A/C a lot more than we wish and use space heaters in the winter in almost every room. My home office is perhaps the worst insulated room in the apartment. It juts out into the garden in the back so that 3 out of the 4 walls are exterior walls and always seems cold. So I like to use a heater on low when I'm in the room to take the chill out. Since I'm in the room so much, I use a space heater many hours a day. We had a 1500W multi speed space heater give up the ghost so I decided to replace it with something less powerful for my office. Looking around, I found this 500W heater and thought it would be sufficient. When using a space heater you need to be aware of it's energy requirements and the availability of power to the outlet you will be plugging it into. The earliest space heaters we used were 1875W (15A) but lately I've been buying 1500W heaters.. When plugging these into circuits one needed to be aware of how much other power was being used from the circuit and how many amps the fuse or circuit breaker could handle. It's not unusual that a room's outlets are wired to a 15A circuit breaker. If the heater is an 1875W maximum that's 15A right there (15A x 125Volts. Anything else plugged in will cause the circuit to over heat and if the circuit breaker doesn't blow, than the wiring will heat up and there's a high likelihood there would be a fire. If it's in the wiring in the walls, you're about to become a statistic. I chose this heater because the room is small and I'm a hearty individual. At 500W it's safe for me to plug into the circuits in this room and it provides more than enough heat to make the room comfortable. I do wish it had a couple of heat levels because even at 500W it makes the room warmer than I need but we'll see in the heart of the winter. So far, this heater takes care of my needs and frees me from worrying about overloading the electrical system.

Easy to use out of the box. Good quality. Has auto shut off if tipped over. Puts out a good amount of heat. Low level noise. I would’ve like a little longer cord. Good product

While it definitely does heat up and is small size (2 things I needed for intended use of this space heater), I’m disappointed to see that it has only 1 speed and no way to adjust the heat output. Most space heaters have some kind of thermostat to keep the temperature from getting too hot when running for awhile. While the safety button to shut down if it flips over is a good safety feature, not being able to adjust the fan speed or the temperature output is a significant issue that can well limit how much I can use this. Obviously the amount of heat needed to supplement the main heating system is different when it is in the 40’s vs when it’s below zero!

This little heater goes above and beyond my expectations. It heats up instantly and has a very strong fan output for its size. It only has one temp, but it gets hot and stays consistent. I have run it for hours at a time and it's performed wonderfully. I use it to keep warm at my computer desk, and it actually makes a significant difference because it is -strong-. The air is hot hot but the casing never gets hot to the touch. It has a light to let you know when its on and a safety switch on the bottom. 10/10

Update 11-23-2024 Customer Service contacted me regarding the heater arriving damaged and sent a replacement unit which arrived in about a week. This unit was fully functional and undamaged. I plugged it in and set it up in our small bedroom. As expected, it did make a difference, but not a huge one. The unit heats up quickly and the fan does force air through but it isn't very strong. The tip sensor functions as expected. This is perfect for heating up small spaces, like an office cubicle or under a desk, and the design is great for those applications. Overall, it works as described and expected, it does provide some heat and is fairly quiet when on. ______________________________________________________ I ordered this to serve as a supplemental heater for a small bedroom. It arrived with the anti-tip switch on the bottom pushed in and as a result the unit did not work at all. Looking at it, it is a small heating element and small fan, so it would put out some heat, but more suitable for under a desk in an office rather than a small room. I feel like it would work OK if it had not been defective on order, but don't expect it to do much for a large area.

* 500W heater during steady state, rated on bottom of heater and at rating with meter * Simple on/off button at top, easy to press * Tip-over safety is a simple switch on the bottom, may not work on carpet and really needs solid surface * The overheat does work, I blocked the intake and allowed it to heat up (in a safe controlled setting) and it did shut off the heating coils. The fan remained on which is a great feature. Coils turn on right away as soon as it cools off. Ideally it should remain off until a reset happens but at least it stops heating when overheating. Note: This is no excuse to misbehave or ignore the obvious warnings. * Fan noise is ok and acceptable for air flow. * Really designed for personal space heater, not for any room of most sizes (perhaps small bathroom may work?)
