I've attached pictures from my (cheap, but ok) thermal camera, and spot-checked the readings with a separate laser thermometer. Short summary: Your typical PTC space heater with anti-tip safety, plus some nice features such as the ECO mode's auto-switching between HI/LO, a remote control, an oscillating mode, the display will show the current temperature, and it has an automatic 30s cooldown on power-down. The front grill gets a bit warmer than some of the other space heaters I've seen, but the rest of the body stays plenty cool. Plenty of heat, and a strong fan. -- Shipped and arrived quickly. It was packaged well and should survive harsh shipping. It has a quick-start leaflet that saved me from having to dig through the manual to figure out if there's a way to manually turn the screen off. Although that does auto turn off after 5min or so. The construction seems good for the price. It's light, but seems well-made. The plastic doesn't feel cheap, and should survive normal wear and tear. It heats up immediately, as expected of a PTC heater. There was the usual minor "burn-off" smell. Running the fan-only mode for a bit didn't seem to help a whole lot, but it was at least mostly cooked off within 30min running on Low heat. The fan is about the usual volume for basic space heaters. The oscillation motor and gearing is silent. The eco mode is useful, but maybe not perfect for rooms that only need a little bit of supplemental heat. (Low heat is still a fair bit of heat.) The screen is a bit bright, but you can turn it off (long-press the Mode button), or it will turn itself off after what seemed like 5min. When the display is still active but you're not changing settings, it will switch to show the current temperature. A nice plus. When powering it off, it will run a cooldown cycle for 30 seconds which I greatly appreciate. It's a small thing, but it does help with safety and longevity; getting the heater coils cooled down a bit faster and more evenly, and cooling the front grill a bit. It has a basic mesh filter on the intake, with tool-less removal. The mesh likes to fall out since there's no bottom-edge clips keeping it in place, but it's not too difficult to keep it in place when removing or reinstalling. The anti-tip shutoff triggers nice and early, but not so early that an inclined floor would cause an issue. It sounds an audible alarm when the anti-tip safety triggers, which is also nice. For the listed $40 at the time of review, this seems like a great buy for small-to-medium rooms in my opinion. ... show more

    • Basic portable heater with nice features.
This is a nice looking heater that can blend easily into most home decor. It's fairly low profile and the black with gold trim gives it a premium look. The display is hidden (or off) when you're not selecting anything. Functionally, it does a good job heating our 300 sq ft Florida room even with sub-freezing temps outside. It is reasonably quiet but you can hear the fan if the room is quiet. It has basic function such as a timer and the ability to oscillate. And I can vouch for the tip protection because it shut off immediately when my son accidentally bumped into it (even though it didn't actually tip over). I was very happy to see that it was this sensitive. Overall, for the price, this is a nice heater that competes well with much higher priced models. ... show more

    • Heats room quickly
It's hard to believe how affordable this space heater is considering how well-constructed, effective, and attractive it is. I have used space heaters my whole life and have a small bias in fearing them for being somewhat of a hazard, like a fire or burn waiting to happen. I do not have those concerns with this space heater. It's base is slightly wider than the heating column itself, so it is very stable - -even with my dog running around like a maniac, it has managed to stay upright, not even teetering one bit. The unit itself really blasts a ton of heat quickly, while maintaining a comfortable temperature that is spreads around the whole room instead of just heating the unit itself. This unit allows you to set a thermostat to reach whatever temperature you like and it also has a sleep timer, giving the user so much more control than other heaters I have used in my life. The power off process is a little different in that it is not immediate. It actually slowly adjusts the heat level to gradually cool itself before powering off, which I cannot help but imagine extends the life of the unit - it definitely leaves the unit at a safe temperature so you don't have to fear accidentally burning yourself if you touch it. All of this greatness at just about $40 is a real steal. This is perfect for anyone who is looking to reduce their overall power bill and wants to heat the room you are in versus heating the whole house or apartment. I forgot to mention that this also includes a remote control so you don't have to get up out of bed to turn it on when you wake up. You can press your remote and wait for your room to warm up before you get out from under your covers. ... show more
