This thing is exactly what I needed. Very lightweight, which I need due to back trouble. It is quite weak and cannot handle heavy weeds, but if you want an easy to use, no hassle trimmer for a small to medium yard this is it. Paired with an electric push mower, I'm done with my yard within thirty minutes.

First of all, it was a pain to assemble. And then I had to adjust the metal part in the base because it kept getting in the way of trimming. I finally ended up removing it completely so I could get close to things like fences -- you know, where you can't really mow and you buy an edger to edge. Then when I flipped it so I could do next to my walk (trimming -- if by the fence is called edging), it was not easy to position the thing. But I was able to basically get things done UNTIL the plastic cord stopped coming out on its own. Yes, it would become stuck, and I'd have to open it up. Multiple times! WHAT A PAIN! My solution: I just bought another edger/trimmer (try RYOBI). But the SOYUS piece of junk I bought is a nightmare. It came with lots of extra spools, which was a selling point for me. But don't waste your money. IT IS JUNK. My old B&D was great (lasted years but finally died). Now those are ridiculously expensive.

I love this tool! In the time it took to pull out all of the extension cords to do my yard, I can get all of my edging done. The battery life is good for my smallish yard and it's not too heavy. I'm a very active senior and this makes the job easy for me.

Over all I like the trimmer. It's light weight, maneuverable, and generally easy to use. Right off the bat the charger refused to charge the battery. I had to fiddle with it and eventually it began to charge. The next time the battery wouldn't charge again. I suspect the battery gets too warm to kick in when inserted. The second issue was with the string feed. The little hole that you feed string through fell apart literally within 5 minutes of using it. When this happens the string snaps. It's easy to press back in. An additional issue is the string is really cheap. It snaps constantly. It could use a slightly heavier trim string. After fighting with it for an hour (I had the usual issues with having to disassemble refeed string, reassemble and work for a few minutes) I had enough and swappedout the cheap string with genuine weedeater string. It worked a little bit better then. Overall this is a great little trimmer for the price. It's got its weaknesses, including the glitchy charger, and the poorly assembled feed eyelet. I've used it twice, and will keep it, but had I known how glitch it was, I probably wouldn't have purchased it.

I’m 74 yrs old. I mow and edge my fenced-in back yard. I LOVE this battery-powered edger! It’s lightweight and very easy to use. You must release the line by pushing the button on the spindle where the line is enclosed, but it very easy. Even replacing the spools is easy. Great buy! I would purchase it again. Be sure to order extra line.
