This kit comes complete with most of the necessary things to make sour dough. The 2 baskets are the perfect size for the sour dough I make. It is linen lined so using it in the basket, makes it so easy for the dough to pop right out! All the extra tools were great too. It came with a scoring tool, to make the design and to allow the bubbles to be released. It came with a scraping tool, to gather u the dough, it came with a dough whisk to mix the dough, it came with a large sharp scraper sharp on one edge to cut the dough in half, and brushes for easy clean up, and several other tools. Cleaning the baskets are very easy , especially with the brush provided, and the linen liners can just be washed! It came with a jar to keep the starter in and to feed it., and it came with an elastic ‘marker’ to put around the glass jar, to use to measure and see how much your starter grew! This kit is a great help for making my sour doughs! Would for sure buy it for a gift!

All you need is the dough! This is a great set to either use or give to someone who loves to make sourdough bread. It has everything you need to form beautiful loaves - even a scoring lame to slash or make designs int he dough . There are two molds, a banneton, which is a round mold, or a basket, which is oval shaped. They each come with a liner cloth, but I am not sure whether you will get the pretty lines in your finished product if you use the cloths. The dough whisk is great for mixing your sourdough starter, and there are two scrapers, a plastic one for getting the dough out of your bowl, and a metal one to use when shaping your dough. The package also includes several recipes for bread, scones and pizza dough. The items are well make and sturdy. The price is very good for the set.

My son is an experienced bread maker but recently decided to try his hand at making sourdough. He was buying sourdough from a home bakery who generously provided him with starter. We were using our regular baking utensils so when I saw this I knew I had to get it so we could try it out. The baskets are the perfect size for making round or oval loaves. All of the utensils have a nice feel to them, and the linen liners are washable. The dough stuck a bit to the linen but the brush worked well to remove the dough. The razor blades (for scoring designs in the top) come with a leather storage pouch. I think this would make the perfect gift for anyone who is interested in making bread, whether for sourdough or even traditional bread. This is a very good kit for those just getting started in bread making. It is very affordable and would make a great gift. None of the tools are especially great but are plenty functional. The whisk is great for high hydration doughs. I like that it also comes with BOTH a bench scraper and a bowl scraper as they have different uses. The lame is likely the lamest tool. Its pretty marginal in quality but it does function. The baskets are plenty nice enough and likely will be the last thing that someone will want to upgrade. I also like the included recipes and instructions. Overall, this kit is great for a beginner, giving them all the tools to get started and allowing them to upgrade bits and pieces as they decide what they like and don't like about them. In addition, if someone decides to not continue with the hobby, its low enough cost to not be out a whole lot.

For the price you can't beat this set; it's a great price for what you get. The quality is decent and it should last until you're ready to upgrade. All the tools included will function well for bread making, particularly sourdough or artesian varieties. The size of the basket is on the small side but for beginners they are perfect. I'm a professional baker and prefer larger baskets (when I use them) but I'm used to handling larger batches of dough. This would make a great gift for someone just starting out and it will be great as a backup in my kitchen. - You can never have too many scrapers, slicers, whisks, and baskets!

I'm pretty fussy about kitchen wares (and most things lol) but I can say this is a very nice quality set for proofing/prepping your sourdough (or other?) bread doughs. I just got into making sourdough so am not an expert to test these on, but I can tell they'll work wonderfully, once I'm up and running. I really like the natural baskets and the linen fabric covers, the lame, scrapers, brush, and whisk are all well made of nice materials, too. The whisk is especially sturdy, which would really let the process down if it wasn't. I didn't want to have to hunt around for all of the separate items I needed so this came along at just the right time. I'd say the price is right and this would make a very nice gift for a budding home baker like myself! 5/5 stars!!

The sourdough set is really nice. Love the two basket options for loaf shaping. The cleaning brush will come in handy to ensure the baskets stay clean of previous dough debris from proofing in the basket. The wooden handled bread lame is fancy. With all you get, great value for the money. Variety of tools makes this a bargain for functions you can perform.
