  • Works perfect
Color: 6w
I bought 2 of these as an option to keep my Ring stickup cameras charged. Bought additional 10’ cables with barrel connectors compatible with Ring ($11?) that seemed fit for the purpose. Plugged it in and it topped off the camera’s battery from 92% to 100% in an hour. Provided enough wattage that the camera thinks it’s plugged into hard power and prompted me if I want to switch from battery. I tested it with my iPhone 13 and it provided enough power to charge it. Overall I’d say that this product is an excellent option for the purpose as well as providing alternate charging for small devices such as small battery packs or phones for camping/off grid applications. Only drawback over Ring’s $60 panel is that it doesn’t come with any type of mount. Easily fashioned though so…..5 stars overall. ... show more

  • Handy to charge your phone or tablet
Color: 6w
Worked well till someone walked off with it. Charged a phone in 3-4 hours in my window. Works better in full sun at the right angle. Easy to set up. Charging speed is dependent on whether it in direct sun light or not. It will do the job when you don't have power or are away from power.

  • Doesn't work
Color: 6wx2
I tried to charge these solar panels for days in direct sunlight. I used my phone charge to see if it worked but it did not. I tried hooking the panels together for more power but they still did not charge my phone. Now I am trying to return for a refund and lo and behold I have to find a UPS return place around my location. When I did they wanted to charge me $4 for printing out the QR code which I would love to print out my own but there is no simple option to do it so I guess I will keep looking. This one star rating goes for Amazon too! Why make it so complicated to print a shipping label? Oh I guess cause you want to keep the money when I get tired of trying to figure out how to ship the junk back!!! ... show more

  • Good value
Color: 6w
Purchased for use with a Solar MeshNetwork node project. I first tested with a cell phone and was able to fully charge a 4200mah cellphone in about 5 hours of direct sunlight. After confirming function I hard wired the panel into my mesh node (Tbeam 1.1) w/2 1800mah 18650 batteries. I first tested at ground level with the panel angled and facing south, this netted good results and kept the Node charged from 90-100% for 7 days. I then mounted it roughly 18 feet up a tree where I mounted the panel flat against the tree, this is where is suspect my issues started. For the first two days we had decent weather and the panel produced sufficient power to keep the Node running, on day 3 we had heavy cloud cover and the battery dropped to 70% during the day, day 4 heavy rain and it dropped to 40% day 5 rain and cloud cover has it down to 6%. My conclusion is that between the less than ideal angle it is mounted and the minimal sun exposure it is not sustainable without expanding to a larger battery backup to keep it running until blouts of bad weather come and go. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Color: 6w
Charges my phone and power bank relatively quickly considering its small size. I measured about 5W output power in direct sunlight. Surprisingly low light threshold; even when cloudy or not in direct sunlight it'll provide a little power. Seems well built and the holes make it easy to clip onto stuff. Overall quite a nice little panel. ... show more

  • It seems to lack a charge controller which prevents the panel from drawing current
Color: 6wx2
They work fine in the sunlight. I charge my phone, a power bank and some rechargeable batteries often, but if I happen to be out til dark and I leave my phone plugged in, the panel actually drains my phone's battery. Seems to lack a blocking diode

  • Versatile solar panels for small electronic devices
Color: 6w
I bought two of these. They come with the cables you need to daisy chain them together to cut your charging time by half. I plugged my phone into one right out of the box and it started charging in sunlight. At just 6w, these will charge a device rather slowly, so don't expect too much. After 2 hours in the sun I had a 10% charge. With a second panel connected I doubled the amount of charge in the same time. You can also charge two devices at once with the two-panel setup. These are great to have on hand in case the power goes out and you need to keep a phone operational. No power is stored in the panels, so these cannot power lights at night. They are lightweight and thin enough to slip into a backpack for hiking and camping. Also good for teaching kids how solar energy works. A good reminder of how much energy is going to waste. At this price, I highly recommend picking up a pair to keep with your emergency or off-grid excursion kit. ... show more

  • Delivers 0.82Amps at 4.5Volts (3.7Watts)
Color: 6w
In the California Sun in May, I recorded 0.82amps at 4.5V, which equates to 3.7 watts. I know that's not the rated capacity, but that's about right for a 6-watt panel (60% of rated capacity). I wish I could figure out how to open the connection panel so I could shorten/resolder the USB cable. every gram counts when backpacking. Very sturdy. Too hot to touch (140F) after an hour of charging, with air temperatures at 85F. I weighed it at 8.2Oz. If we could remove/shorten the excess wire it would be 7.5Oz. edit: 0.92V at 4.75V = 4.36Watts observed Back panel comes off, but you have to pry it off as there is silicone sealant gluing it all together. I was able to unsolder the USB cable, cut off the DC cable. I then shortened the USB cable and resoldered it to the voltage management board within. I wouldn't recommend this process. edit: I also purchased the "two pack" since the last one was fantastic. Unfortunately one of the two was a different cell design, and only produced half the current of the other. The working panels have two large distinct octagonal cells as pictured. The bad panel was one large rectangular cell. I'll trash the bad panel, the price is still right. ... show more
