  • Great entry into solar with quality to match!
Style: Basic 200W Complete Kit
Not knowing much about solar, this kit was a good gateway into it without risking too much money. It came with all the components necessary to get up and running relatively easily. I actually mounted this on a cargo trailer my wife and I converted into a camper in hopes of being able to go off grid for short periods if need be. And it accomplished that goal. While this particular kit didn't allow us the versatility to run too many appliances, it did put out enough power for basic needs such as lights, phone charging and making coffee, just to name a few. The inverter and control panel did a very good job preventing overheating and blowing circuits and protected whatever appliance in use from damage. The instructions were very minimal, but everything was there. Connectivity was easy (dry fit) and there were no extra or missing pieces that left us wondering if we did it right. Again, since this was all new to me and I'm not an electrician, it was a good investment as a place to start and eventually add on to as needed. That being said, I would've bought (and eventually did) additional batteries to store more power since the panels worked very well at capturing it. Like all batteries, the charging cycle will wear down the efficiency, I still have the original one from this kit in my chain and works just fine. Other than wanting more batteries (which again, my choice, not a product issue), I would've also got a more powerful inverter (which I eventually did). Being new to solar, I didn't know our needs well enough to get the amount of power needed , which is why I bought this starter kit, at very good price, and knew i was going to have to make adjustments over time. Not a reflection of the kit, but more of my lack of electrical knowledge. After getting it installed how and where I needed it, it is still going strong. I have added more batteries and an extra panel and upgraded the inverter to handle more power. This kit made figuring out what I needed more of or less of was a perfect introduction to the solar power world. It was a low risk, high reward system that was easy to grow with and a great place to start. The quality of the panels is very impressive as they have been through almost every weather scenario possible and still absorb about as much as they did when new. Even though small branches and hale have pelted them over the years, they still have not cracked or been damaged. This system helped us through many below freezing nights, heavy rains and snow storms and keepa on ticking! So if you've been thinking about getting into solar for your camper, rv or even home, but didn't want to risk a lot of money on the wrong products and are not an electrician, this kit is the perfect place to start that journey. And if you do have more extensive electrical experience, then you will definitely get the most bang for your buck that much quicker. And since it's a modular kit, it's very easy to swap out different components to suit your needs AND still find the old parts you may have upgraded, useful... all of the components I've upgraded, the originals have found a home on a smaller system we built for our security system. Great starter kit if your looking to get into solar or just looking to upgrade from a smaller set up. Solid components, quality wiring, great protection features built in and all at a very fair price. ... show more

  • Very happy!
Style: Basic 200W Complete Kit
First off, I want to point out, this "kit" does not come in 1 huge box. (at least for me). It came in, across several days, 1 package a day for about a week. Cables were delivered by USPS, the inverter was delivered through FedEx and the solar panels were delivered by a 3rd party white-box delivery service. The charge controller was in the box with the solar panels. My wife and I were able to set the entire thing up over a dedicated afternoon. It took about 3-4 hours to get everything installed. The batteries were at half charge when they arrived (which is expected). All in all, I was very happy not only with the product but also the ease of installation. There is a little electrical work involved (you will need to crimp the cables with connectors that come with the kit. Just use standard pliers to crimp it). I did have to cut the end off of the wires that came with the inverter as they didn't fit into the charge controller (but you again just crimp the connectors to it that are included with the charge controller.). There are plenty of instructions for everything (charge controller, inverter and the panels all had manuals with good explanations and pictures of how everything connects). I would recommend it to anyone who asks about it. Again, I just want to point out, everything came at different times throughout the week. The tracking info you get from amazon will only be for 1 of the boxes. Expect to receive 5 packages in total across different days. ... show more

  • 200 w gets you 2 hrs of led lighting
Style: Basic 200W Complete Kit
***UPDATED REVIEW*** The seller was very intent on making the purchase right. After deliberation it was decided I would return the controller and inverter for full refund. The seller was quick in trying to make the customer happy and for that I have changed the review as it isn't the seller making the goods. The panels work fine and correctly measure on voltmeter going into fuse box. The controller and the inverter on the other hand were complete disappointments. I am upgrading this to 4 stars due ONLY to the seller's diligence on customer satisfaction. I would have no problem buying from this seller in the future. Using on 2 grow lights and 2 aero gardens, all led. Have 3 batteries hooked up in parallel and this inverter eats energy like its no body's business. Batteries last 2 hrs if that and charge controller always says 12v going to batteries. I was getting 29 at best on sunny day @ 30 degrees facing south. I do have it going through controller box to be safe, but its either the controller or the inverter that is just terrible. Going to Renogy controller or maybe a hybrid controller/inverter as this isn't doing anything to power simple led lights. ... show more

  • Great back up power
Style: Basic 200W Complete Kit
I ordered the 600 Watt solar system from DC House and it is working great. I mounted the solar panels on the roof of my steel gazebo. The system cam with two 20Ah batteries that I am now running a patio fan and lights on. This was an important product for me to buy because I live in South Texas and have fear of rolling black outs from electric provider in the summer time with no power you will melt in the heat but not me because I have a new solar power system to run fans if the power goes out. I will now order more components to expand my system to run a freezer as well. Great product Great price and quality customer service. ... show more
