Had my reservations initially when I was considering this product. A refurbished blu-ray player could have some problems, but hey, at 40 bucks and Amazon backing it I decided to try it. Glad I did. Sony is top of the line, and whatever issue it had was corrected, so at least i don't need to worry about that had i purchased a brand new and untested one from the store. The player is compact, and upconverts regular dvds better than my previous LG blu-rayer player did. Bluray disks load quickly, functions are easy to use, and the picture you get is perfect. No issues with the player. I will be ordering another one...or two! ... show more

So far I’m pleased with this refurbished device. I missed having a dvd player and this fits perfectly. Easy to set up and super lightweight. Doesn’t take up a lot of room very compact. DISLIKES: 1. BUYER BEWARE!! I was just about to return the DVD player because it wasn't turning on at all and I had assumed they sent me a defective DVD player. Right before I went on Amazon to fill out a return request I thought about unplugging it from the extension cord and plugging it directly to the wall to see if that would do anything. I was at the point that I was thinking of really dumb things just to get it to turn on. Surprisingly, it worked! The DVD player doesn't function when plugged up to an extension cord but works perfectly when directly plugged into the wall socket. If it doesn't turn on for you, try this. 2. You have to purchase additional accessories for the DVD player to work: (HDMI CABLE-$10 at Walmart and LAN cable $4 at Walmart) I didn't mind paying extra but I did mind not being able to use my DVD player right away because I wasn't aware that the player didn't come with these things. Why don't they just include this stuff and charge extra? Or at least make it impossible for the buyer to know that they need to purchase additional things for the player to work. 3. The LAN cable is what gives you the internet connection and needs to be plugged into your router. (not wireless) LIKES: 1. Price 2. Size (small DVD player) 3. Blue-ray 4. Name-brand 5. Fast-Shipping (It came the next day) 6. Wathcing things on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime etc. is super easy and quick. 7. Once the kinks are all figured out it works great! ... show more

I like the price and the shipping part for when I went to use it it didn't work times these things work well most of the time but this time it didn't work. I just didn't have the motivation to send it back because then they'll still try to sell it somebody else so that ship stops here with me

For the price, a great player! I do wish it could connect over WiFi but not a huge deal since I could hook it up to a LAN source. Plays perfectly. I bought a Samsung Blu Ray player years ago and it played DVDs fine but was horrible with Blu rays. After awhile it actually stopped working for Blu rays. Bought this as a replacement ... show more

Note that is refurbished. The box was not in the best shape. But the device itelf is fine. And the price is right. Installation and operation are trivial. Navigating the menus is really simple and straightforward. It is really compact and doesn’t take up much room. I know that 4K is the rage and streaming services are the goto for viewing movies, but I purchased my son a copy of Blue Planet II on BluRay and wanted to view it myself when I had a chance. Personally, I did not have a BluRay player so I bought a quickie intended for one use from Amazon. I have been pleasantly surprised by its performance and size. Just because the ad may say "Refurbished" doesn't mean that your getting junky yesterday's product. I'm pleased with my purchase and stunned by this BluRay's picture quality. Thank You. ... show more
