I had an old DVD player that I liked, but I moved and lost the power cord along the way. I went onto Amazon, compared models and their features, read the reviews, and bought the one that fit my needs and my budget. When the player arrived, I eagerly opened the package and set it up. It was only then that I realized that the new one was EXACTLY the same model as the one I was replacing. I went through the process of deciding what DVD player worked best for me from all the online options, and somehow managed to buy the same one ... twice! So, of course I am completely happy with it. I am not disappointed to have done this. I am, in fact, very pleased. And now I have two players that use the same power cord and remote. Had to replace my more than a decade old LG blu ray player due to loud noise when reading and slow to read. Tried cleaning it with no resolution. Purchased this and was impressed. This Bluray player surprised me how small it was which is what I wanted. One feature I liked right off the bat was it turns off automatically when you turn your TV off. The built in Wifi was also a surprise concidering the price. This Blu-ray player aslo is a streaming player which you can download apps like Netflix and stream movies that way as well. I haven't explored everything it does yet but so far I am impressed with all the features given its price point, I highly recommend this Blu-ray player hands down. ... show more

    • About what you would expect from a sub $100 player
Picked this up and GoT Bluray set. This seems to play the discs very well. Picture quality is as it should be. But it does pause and skip a bit when loading discs. Response time from when you click a button on the remote to when the player does whats its supposed to is a few seconds at times when loading or if the disc skips. First disc of the GoT BR set I got just stopped playing during the second episode. Not this players fault, sending back the disc set for a replacement. But I cant help to wonder if a better player would be able to handle a questionable disc better... In any event, overall and for the price, worth it. ... show more

We bought this to put behind our TV in our fifth wheel. Small and compact I even modified the box to store it in when we're traveling down the road. Very nice to watch a movie on a cold night. Picture quality is great and it actually comes with Netflix and Prime if you have satellite. Good value.

So pleased with my new player. Picture quality is so much sharper. So easy to hook up. I don't use sound bars as yet, or computer and other electronics with it, only because i'm not that tech savvy. Sound is so much better. Very good buy. Very satisfied.

    • Very fussy about loading and playing Blu rays
Purchased this player when my old Sony Blu ray player quit working after 10 years. This new player worked great for the first 4 months of use and then started not playing blu rays (never have had a problem with DVDs). The same exact blu rays that worked fine during the first 4 months suddenly would not load. Display says no disc or improper disc. I have cleaned the discs and the player with a cleaning disc, no improvement. I don't understand how suddenly it picks and chooses what discs are allowed to work. I live in a smoke free home and have handled DVDs and blu rays since 2002 when I got my first DVD player. Discs were purchased brand new, no fingerprints or scratches, always stored properly in their cases. Tried all the online fixes from Sony--no help at all. Out of warranty and sending it out for repair, if repairable ,would be more than replacing it. Very frustrating. I am very surprised that all Amazon reviews are very positive. I can't believe I am the only person to experience this, or like me, others have had this problem after warranty ended and just chucked theirs, which is exactly what I have done. Going to try Panasonic or Phillips. Don't mean to put down Sony, but have others noticed how modern electronics are so cheap, not just in price but in quality. It is as if the cheap price justifies the modern electronics that are, for lack of a better word, disposable. Beware. ... show more
