  • Sony wifi/Blu Ray player!
Very good device& this one connected to my modem/wifi! I had an old LG Model& it was 2015 when I bought it& not knowing when I pulled it out to use it, it wouldn't connect to the line& found out it was an outdated device. So I bought this new one from Amazon& this one connected& thank you.

  • Great and Easy! 2021 Review!
Love this player!! I was looking for a player for my Japanese and Korean DVDs and most reviews here were talking about their European ones. I'm here to let it know, it does works with all regions without issues :) It's smaller than I originally thought it would be, which is great for space specially in a dorm. Easy to connect to the TV and it does come with an instruction sheet on which button to use for changing the Region for your DVDs. This has to be done BEFORE you insert the disc ;) The controller is very easy to read and has a subtitle button that DOES work while the DVD is playing!! So you don't have to worry on going back to the main menu (same with the language options), unless you have an old DVD that won't let you :( The Wifi set up was very easy too, the network menu looks like the one from the PS4! Not a lot of streaming apps options, but personally I only need Netflix and YouTube, so I think it's okay. It does have Prime Video if you need it! (Netflix has it's own button in the controller and it works perfectly!) ... show more

  • If I could do it over, I would get the higher picture quality Sony 6700 Upscaling machine
When it works, of course the picture is "good." But that's due to the disks themselves - they'll look good on ANY player. I wish I had paid the extra $75 and purchased the Sony "upscaling" 6700 though, for a more stunning picture. Oh well. This machine has three big flaws: 1) It lacks the good Blu-ray features 2) It has a tiny, hard to read remote 3) It does shuts itself off when disks are on pause for more than a few minutes. Now, this machine does play Region A (US) and B (Europe, the UK) Blu-rays and dvds, just like it "says on the tin". But it can require a bit of software manipulation for some of the Region B. I had a few fail to load. I might not have gotten the one page insert that is supposed to come with the machine - but maybe I did and just overlooked it? Two years later I bought another of this machine for a friend, and saw the page then. It has special instructions: If machine fails to play one of your Region B disks (and you are in North America), turn it off. With power off, press and hold the BLUE button on the remote. The machine will start up in the full Region 2 mode. Until I found and read that special page, there were 3% or 4% of the foreign Region Two disks this machine would not play. It seems to play them all now, though. ... show more

  • Plays region 2 dvds.
Player plays European region 2 dvds. Easy to install and setup. Had it working under 30 min. Met expectations. Easy to operate. Made by Sony. No issues with seller.

  • $165 piece of garbage
This piece of crap plays dvds just fine but don’t try using the apps. My internet/WiFi works just fine can watch movies etc on my phone and iPad but even using a hard connection with an Ethernet cable the movies stutter and stop constantly and the unit won’t respond to the remote. I spent $165.00 for a smart all region DVD player...not a hunk of junk. Had it not quite 2 mos and this happens. Bought the warranty...watch them tell me that it doesn’t cover this problem. Buyer beware! ... show more

  • Very Useful
This plays DVDs and Blue Ray discs. The added bonus is that it gives you the power of a smart TV that is small enough to pack in your luggage. Where ever you go, log into the hotel network or connect to the WIFI hot spot on your phone and watch your usual streaming content. It has smart TV guts without the actual TV screen. (You need to bring cables with you…just sayin) ... show more

  • Nice all-region player
This worked as advertised right out of the box. I tried it with some region 2 DVDs and region B Blu-Ray discs. For the Blu-Ray, you have to follow the directions given to press the appropriate colored button, which selectes the region for the disc you're trying to play. Be aware that if you have another Sony player, they all apparently use the same remote, so pressing a key on this remote will actuate your other Sony play as well. So you'll have to find a work-around for that, such as unplugging one when not in use. ... show more
