  • Second Sony OLED and Even Better Than the First – Absolutely Stunning TV
Size: 55 Style: TV Only
The Sony BRAVIA XR A80L 55-inch has completely exceeded my expectations — and that’s saying something because this is my second Sony OLED. I already knew Sony made incredible televisions, but the A80L somehow manages to raise the bar even higher. The picture quality is simply breathtaking. The OLED panel delivers perfect blacks, incredible contrast, and colors that look natural and lifelike without being oversaturated. Whether I’m watching 4K movies, streaming shows, or regular HD content, everything looks sharp and detailed. The XR processor really shines when it comes to upscaling — even older content looks clean and refined. Motion handling is smooth and clear, which makes a huge difference during sports and action scenes. There’s no blur, no strange artifacts — just fluid, realistic movement. And when it comes to movies, especially in darker scenes, the depth and shadow detail are phenomenal. You notice subtle things you may have missed before. Sound quality is another highlight. The built-in Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology is surprisingly immersive. Dialogue sounds like it’s coming directly from the screen, and the overall audio is rich and balanced. While a soundbar always adds extra punch, this TV sounds better on its own than most I’ve owned. Setup was straightforward, and the Google TV interface is fast and easy to navigate. Everything feels premium — from the slim, elegant design to the solid stand and build quality. It looks beautiful whether mounted or sitting on a media console. As someone who already owned a Sony OLED, I can honestly say this model feels like a refinement in all the right ways: brighter highlights, smoother performance, and even more polished picture processing. Sony continues to prove why they are leaders in OLED technology. If you’re considering an OLED and want cinematic picture quality, excellent motion, and top-tier processing, the A80L is a fantastic choice. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. ... show more

  • Beautiful, stunning picture and Feature-packed!
Size: 77 Style: TV Only
This tv exceeds my expectations! I keep finding more and more things to love about it. NGL, my main reason for choosing Sony was because I love my PS5 and spend significant time playing. The second reason is I needed an upgrade and can finally afford an OLED. The picture quality is stunning, crisp, deep and colorful. The blacks are really black and the brights are vibrant. I love the Ambience feature and all the creative, beautiful packages I can download for free. It is easy to setup and walked us through how to get the most out of the TV picture and audio settings. The sound is also worth mentioning; it has impressive built in speakers but I’d strongly suggest buying a proper sound system. We already own a Sony system and the tv synced up with it without us doing anything. Last thing, it came with credits from Sony Core to use toward IMAX and 8k movies (free!!) and a free year subscription. Last last thing, the tv works easily with iPhone/appleTV even while using Google UI/features. I’m very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Best picture for mid-budget oled
Size: 65 Style: TV Only
Purchased 3 months ago. After weeks of non-stop research I decided to go with the A80L 65”. I’ll keep it simple, it’s the best picture quality I’ve seen out of all the tvs I’ve owned in my life. The way action scenes look, or how accurate colors are in colorful scenes, mind blowing. Trees, mountains, cars, shadows.. all look too real, astonishing. The game mode feature is one of the best, easiest & smoothest ones out there. It has many features that I believe will accommodate majority of gamers. Not really much to that. For tv speakers, it packs quite a little punch. I can tell that it’ll obviously sound better with a Sony Bravia soundbar, as the tv & soundbar sync into 1 system. But any good Dolby Atmos soundbar will/should be fine for most. The only negative thing I have to say is that, it doesn’t get very bright.. Some dark scenes are almost hard to make out, even at max brightness. Besides that no issues at all ... show more

  • Freezes up, but still worth buying.
Size: 55 Style: TV Only
Awesome TV with a very high quality picture, and sound. The only bad part is that it freezes up every now and again. The imax display looks insanely good.

  • Terrific TV

Great TV. Bright picture. Great sound. All the apps built in. Works with Alexa. I only wish the remote had a backlight!

  • Good purchase.
Size: 55 Style: TV Only
TV looks absolutely great. We do have to unplug it for a few minutes after a few months because it tends to want to freeze apps and act weird in a program. However we've had to do that with EVERY smart TV we've ever owned. Don't know why they do that. All that aside, we really love the purchase. Picture is brilliant. ... show more

  • Great OLED for the price!
Size: 55 Style: TV Only
At home delivery is a great free service putting the TV in the room I needed. Picture is fantastic. LG OLEDs are a little brighter but Sony image processing is still the best. Upscaling HD to 4k which is nearly all TV channels is done well. 4k image from Netflix, Disney, Amazon streaming looks very good. Not the best interface for streaming but as long as you’re using an Apple TV, PS5, Xbox, Google TV or Ruku for streaming it won’t matter. Highly recommend. The 65” one is the best deal for the money right now. Going smaller does not save you much money but going larger is way too expensive. If you can’t afford Sony OLED 90s series which is much more expensive but better picture than these 80s series are good value for the quality. OLED are better than any LED/QLED/UHD in the market. ... show more

  • Dim compared to my LG
Size: 65 Style: TV Only
I hate to write this three-star review of a Bravia but compared to my older LG OLED65 model (the OLED65C9PUA), the Sony has major flaws that (to me anyway) makes me regret my decision to get the Sony over the current LG 65C3 model on the market. First and foremost, my older LG has much more brightness, which allows me to better adjust the contrast and black levels. Read the objective reviews on YT; several comment on the highest nits of the LG over the Sony. The colors seems to pop a lot more on the LG 65 when playing Fortnite on my PS5. Second, only two of the 4 HDMI inputs on the Bravia were 2.1, while the LG C3 today has 4 such inputs. That's important for my Sonor surround sound that needs one arc input itself and the PS5 likewise. That's the limit for the Bravia. More than two HDMI 2.1 inputs should be the norm these days. In addition, I have always liked the 'vivid' picture setting for my cable and PS5. For some reason, the Sony will only allow the 'gaming' setting for the PS5 input, which is really dim and not suited for daylight viewing. Other niggles include a wimpy remote for the Sony and a klutzy Google TV GUI. Finally, there are no harness bolt attachments on the Sony to allow for anchoring the set to my desktop TV stand. Why not? That being said, the Sony offers outstanding sound to the Sonos and the white glove Amazon delivery was top-notch. All I can add is to suggest that you not throw out the packing material for the Sony since you may have a similar experience as mine and need to return your new Bravia. ... show more
