Features

  • G Lens wide-angle 15mm APS-C prime offers dynamic perspectives, outstanding image quality, large F1.4 aperture as well as fast, precise, quiet AF ideal for still and video content creators.
  • The small size and low weight of the lens makes it a perfect match for compact APS-C as well as Super35 E-mount cameras. Also thanks to a refined internal focus mechanism, the lenss length remains constant while focusing for ideal balance and handling. You can move in close to the subject, right down to the lenss minimum focusing distance, and shoot movies or stills without being restricted by changing lens length.
  • Two linear motors give this large-aperture lens impressively fast, precise autofocus and tracking performance for both stills and movies. AF and tracking are so responsive that the full speed potential of the camera in use can be utilized so that even fast or erratically moving subjects can be reliably captured.
  • An aperture ring provides intuitive control plus the fast response required for professional applications. It also includes a switch that turns the aperture click stops on or off ON for tactile feedback when shooting stills or OFF for seamless, silent control when shooting movies.
  • State-of-the-art lens technology packed into this remarkable large-aperture wide-angle lens reduces unwanted focus breathing and angle of view shifts when focusing. It also supports the breathing compensation function in compatible alpha cameras, further reducing unwanted angle of view shifts during focusing for smooth, high-quality movie footage.

Description

  • good quality, great low light prime lens, it's a keeper
Style: SEL15F14G
Overall, pretty happy with this purchase. I was a little skeptical at first because when you look at the lens, it's pretty small, unlike other fast prime lenses which you see that they have large lenses that can let a lot of light through. But i guess for the size of the sensor on my A6500 it's plenty good enough. The price is pretty steep for a single wide angle prime lens, this lens at 15mm x 1.5 is at 22-23mm normally so wider then a 35mm but not super wide angle which like most bloggers would say is what they like. As i seen other reviews, it works well as an all around lens to go sight seeing with, you can capture wider scenery, selfies with background that doesn't get cut off, then as weather turns or night approaches, it works well in low light situations which my other g zoom lenses couldn't do at f/4 easily. So i have a zoom 18-105 G, 55-210 i think, and a 10-18 wide angle, but none are great a very low light settings (hand held), the 15mm i held in a pre-dawn dark room and took some snaps like it was mid-day hand held with no blur at all. Clarity is good at edges. When ordering it always says 1 or 2 left, but as soon as i ordered it, they sold it again now with included uv filter (protector). Dang, i wish they sent me one for free, just a day late. Oh well, my lens set is complete for what i need it for, mainly amateur sight seeing and travel photography, now that i have a better low light lens, can capture some of those fireworks and other dark/light night city scenery a lot better then my all in one zooms and can use this for vlogging if i ever get into that. Comes with a lens hood, aperture adjustment can set click or smooth when setting via the ring, and you can select auto or manual focus as well, so it's a nice lens and looks quality overall. ... show more

  • Hands down best APS-C vlogging lens. Period. Incredible!
Style: SEL15F14G
I've had a handful of lenses for Sony cameras; the ZV-E10 and FX30. My first vlogging lens was the Sony 11mm f1.8 and it was a solid lens overall, but I found it to be too wide and lacking in other features. This 15mm G Master on the other hand? Hands down winner! The focal distance is great, about as perfect as one can expect, for vlogging. Even with active steady shot enabled, you're able to manage a decent shot handheld or with a handheld tripod. Speaking of handheld, this is light and fairly easily portable. Key features that put this lens above others, both competing brands and Sony lenses, are the f1.4 for that creamy bokeh, and the option of the manual aperture ring. Being able to quickly twist and adjust exposure while you're on the go is amazing. I think this feature is a must have for me going forward. If you're on the fence with this one, just buy it. You're going to love it. Plus, it can be had used/open box at a highly competitive price. ... show more

This 15mm f1.4 lens is sharp. Very nice for astrophotography.

  • Great lens for APSC!
Style: SEL15F14G
I had this lens and sold it as I looked to move to full frame cameras. I still have my FX30 as a C cam and decided to turn it into my Webcam. This lens makes that decision work as I can mount a teleprompter to the end of it.

  • Top quality and worth the price
Style: SEL15F14G + UV Filter & Starter Kit
This is a superb pro-level upgrade from the "kit" lens that usually ships with Sony A6000 DSLRs. Highly-rated, if a little pricey. Since the camera is 3/4 format, the15mm focal length is equivalent to a 24mm wide angle on a full-frame camera. Great for shooting events, landscapes and family gatherings. The big f1.4 aperture allows a great deal of light and nice "bokeh" for shots where you prefer a blurred background. Sharpness is top-notch edge to edge. I purchased it with the accessories kit mainly because it provided a Vivitar UV filter which I installed for its protective quality. ... show more

Absolutely love this lens! A nice wide view and sharp quality video. It’s a light, with a few options built on the lens. I love this purchase.

  • Compact size pairs amazing with ZV-E10
Style: SEL15F14G
Expensive as heck but worth it for me. I've been doing YouTube tech reviews for almost a year now with the Sony ZV-E10 and the Sigma 16mm lens. While thats a killer combo, the large size of the Sigma slows you down at times. It also puts the Crane M3 gimbal at its limits. This 15mm is the same in quality as the Sigma with better autofocus, no focus breathing, and compact. For me it was the smaller size which pairs beautifully with my Crane M3. I took out this combo on a NYC road trip and it took amazing shots. If you want to watch footage check out the Video on YouTube called "2022 Honda Civic - NYC nightdrive" channel name Ultratec. ... show more

  • Much Better than the Sigma 16mm
Style: SEL15F14G
I bought this as a bundle with the new Sony FX30 Super 35 Camera and have been using it with my ZV-E10 to shoot YouTube product reviews for the past couple weeks. Previously I was using the Sigma 16mm and didn't expect much difference- I was wrong! This lens is leaps and bounds better than the Sigma in every regard except price, but it is well worth the extra money. I can't wait to see waht it does on the new FX30. ... show more
