The lens malfunctioned. I tried it with both canon r and r6; the error in the picture was displayed by both cameras before shutting down… I was very excited about getting this lens; sad it didn’t work for me !

I rented this lens before purchasing to ensure I would like it. I had it all of 24 hours before I went online to order one for myself. As I was looking at the lens as "new" I detected there was one "renewed" for hundreds less so I took the plunge and ordered it instead. The notice did mention that the lens could have minor visual imperfections and might not come in the original box... and I was willing to suffer those consequences. But to my absolute delight, the lens is pristine and it did come in the original box and packaging. Nothing appears to be missing and it looks and operates as good as new. As far as the lens goes itself, it is flawless and as sharp as you would ever need. Mounted to my EOS-R the images are crisp and full of contrast and color. If you haven't used an RF lens yet, you're in for a treat when you finally do. ... show more

The lens I received was brand new, not even renewed, which happens a lot when buying renewed items on Amazon. It's in perfect condition with all the included accessories. My version, although new, is an international version, so carries a 90-day warranty instead of a 1-year limited warranty, but that is plenty of time to decide if this lens is for you. ... show more

The lens came brand new looking and in great condition no marks and with all the original parts and accessories I would never have guessed this lens was renewed. The one thing that wasn’t disclosed anywhere was that it is a grey market lens witch I have no problem with just want it to be specified that it is cuz i am assuming at purchase it was official or from this market I might be able to get insured or fixed threw canon if issues arise. As I thought about it I started to assume it was grey market. I can see ppl buying this only to be shocked and upset if something happened and they had issue with canon America over it. I’m okay with that risk not everyone would Be. BUT AGAIN this lens came in amazing condition I’m happy with it. ... show more

Just like you I was nervous about buying a “Renewed” Canon lens. The lens arrived in factory packaging with everything inside! Hood & bag. Looks and feels brand New. I can’t test the image quality yet because I’m waiting on the new Canon R5 body to arrive.
