I rented this lens before purchasing to ensure I would like it. I had it all of 24 hours before I went online to order one for myself. As I was looking at the lens as "new" I detected there was one "renewed" for hundreds less so I took the plunge and ordered it instead. The notice did mention that the lens could have minor visual imperfections and might not come in the original box... and I was willing to suffer those consequences. But to my absolute delight, the lens is pristine and it did come in the original box and packaging. Nothing appears to be missing and it looks and operates as good as new. As far as the lens goes itself, it is flawless and as sharp as you would ever need. Mounted to my EOS-R the images are crisp and full of contrast and color. The lens malfunctioned. I tried it with both canon r and r6; the error in the picture was displayed by both cameras before shutting down… I was very excited about getting this lens; sad it didn’t work for me !

AF is easily a 10/10 IS is the highest quality I have ever seen out of any lens. EASY 10/10 Picture quality is immaculate. 10/10 I was incredibly happy with how sharp my images were, and the f2.8 allowed the ample amount of blur in the background. Having the ability to use the control ring as well makes this lens a no-brainer. I'm not kidding when I say that this lens is going to replace every lens in my bag. ... show more

Just like you I was nervous about buying a “Renewed” Canon lens. The lens arrived in factory packaging with everything inside! Hood & bag. Looks and feels brand New. I can’t test the image quality yet because I’m waiting on the new Canon R5 body to arrive.

The lens I received was brand new, not even renewed, which happens a lot when buying renewed items on Amazon. It's in perfect condition with all the included accessories. My version, although new, is an international version, so carries a 90-day warranty instead of a 1-year limited warranty, but that is plenty of time to decide if this lens is for you. ... show more
